Research On Copyright Valuation Of Digital Music

In recent years,with the rapid development of Internet technology,especially 5G technology,music digitization has become an irreversible development trend.5G technology makes music video scenes have more imagination space.At present,streaming music has far exceeded physical music,live music and other music forms,and has become the core source of income growth in the music industry.With the rapid development of digital music,more and more creators are attracted to this field,at the same time,China’s copyright protection and users’ willingness to pay for listening to music are also strengthened year by year.The future development prospect of digital music field is more promising,and the demand for digital music copyright value evaluation is becoming more and more urgent.As a special intangible asset,the composition of the right subject of music copyright is relatively complex,which may cover the respective rights of the lyricist,composer,performer,singer,sounder,music adapter,song translator,recorder,music publisher,music producer,etc.Only when the respective rights are transferred or authorized can make the music work form a whole right,that is,the copyright of the music work.However,because music copyright has particularities and the pricing power has been controlled by large music companies for a long time,the research on music copyright value evaluation lags behind.Therefore,this paper selects Tencent QQ music digital album and makes an exploratory study on its copyright value.Firstly,this paper combs the main theories and methods of asset evaluation and relevant literature,and analyzes the main factors affecting the value of digital music copyright in detail combined with the characteristics of digital music copyright,such as originality,registrability,tradability,easy dissemination and easy reproduction.Then the author uses the statistical analysis method to collect the digital album data,and calculates the expected income through the regression analysis method.At the same time,combined with the characteristics of the appraised object,the author determines its share rate,discount rate and discount period respectively,and further obtains the income method model for calculating the copyright value of Tencent QQ music digital album.Finally,the model is used to verify the valuation of several digital albums.The results show that only in terms of digital album sales,the relative error between the theoretical value and the actual value is only 19.55%.This study provides a feasible valuation method for music copyright owners when considering the copyright value of their own works,which is helpful to protect the interests of creators.It is also expected that this study can provide some useful thoughts for the evaluation of music copyright value.
