Freehand Expression Of Landscape Oil Painting-creation Report Of Xiangxi Landscape

Oil painting,as a foreign art form,in can spread,develop and root in China only if it is integrated with Chinese culture.Western oil paintings have been introduced into China for over100 years.After several hardships of China’s oil painting,China has drawn the essence from traditional Chinese painting,forming a localized and nationalized painting language-freehand oil painting.In recent years,freehand oil painting organizations hold a variety of sketching activities,so freehand oil painters begin to gather.They go out of the studio together,put the easel in the nature,create scenery from life,and express freehand spirit in sketching.Under this background,the artist in the graduate period,could follow the tutor to sketch all over the country.This series of oil painting creation of Xiangxi freehand landscape was created during the period when the author went to Xiangxi for materials collection.He took the unique human customs of Xiangxi landscape as the theme,and described his familiar Xiangxi landscape through his own exploration of freehand artistic language.In his creation,he tasted the cultural appeal and essential appearance of Chinese freehand oil painting,and expressed his love for Xiangxi landscape.The first part introduces the reasons of this creation from two aspects.The second part reviews the preparation of Xiangxi series of landscape creation,from the selection of theme,material collection,the choice of formal language and other aspects,and mentions how to pursue the expression of freehand oil painting spirit in creation.The third part is the focus of this paper,mainly introduces the creation process of Xiangxi landscape series works,from the choice of composition,the use of color,the use of techniques and strokes and other aspects of the works of specific analysis and discussion.It also explains the difficulties encountered in the creation process.Finally,it summarizes the gains and shortcomings in the creation,and draws the creative insights,so as to lay the foundation for the future creation.This graduation creation,through the performance of a familiar,emotional Xiangxi scenery to clarify my impressionistic spirit of sentiment,to explore their own freehand style of artistic language and to feel the charm of freehand landscape oil painting.
