| Nowadays,Chinese teaching in Thailand is developing rapidly, and the lack of uniform standards for the Chinese teaching materials used by local teachers in Thailand has become one of the problems that many scholars consider to be the existence of the teaching materials. This thesis selects "Chinese language" textbooks written by Chinese academics and "Chinese Friends" written by Thai academics as the objects of this study.Through a comparative analysis of the two entry-level Chinese textbooks for children,we point out their respective merits and open questions and put forward relevant suggestions for their use.The comparison will serve as a guide for teachers when selecting materials and will help to enhance the quality of such resources to some extent. The comparison was conducted in terms of the textbooks as a whole, the texts, vocabulary, grammar, and practice exercises, and the following conclusions were drawn:Both textbooks are appropriate for Thai entry-level children learners of Chinese. The topics of the texts are close to the students’ daily lives. The length of the texts and vocabulary correspond to the entry-level learners’ posting points;and both textbooks purposefully weaken the specialized explanation of grammar knowledge, which is determined by the structural ability of the young learners. The structural capacity of the young learner determines this. Both textbooks include plenty of practice problems to help students review and reinforce what they’ve learned. At the end, based on the results of the comparative analysis of the research,I propose that teachers adjust the textbook’s material to the overall scenario and choose the textbook’s content depending on the students’ level, which also provides new ideas for the subsequent development of the textbook. |
