The Influence Of Time Pressure、Intolerance Of Uncertainty And Advice Costs On Advice Taking

The study selected 322 college students from Heilongjiang and Henan Province.Judge-Advisor System was adopted to explore the effect of time pressure and Intolerance of uncertainty and advice cost on the advice taking.In experiment 1,a between subjects design of 2（time pressure: high time pressure and low time pressure）× 2（Intolerance of uncertainty: high Intolerance of uncertainty and low Intolerance of uncertainty）was used to explore the influence of time pressure and Intolerance of uncertainty on the advice taking.The results showed that in the first experiment,the main effect of time pressure was significant（F=60.394,P<0.001）,the main effect of Intolerance of uncertainty was significant（F=45.821,P<0.001）.There is a certain interaction between the two factors（F=21.902,P<0.001）.Conclusion:（1）Decision makers took more advice under high time pressure.（2）The individuals with low Intolerance of uncertainty took more advice than the highs.（3）Under high time pressure,the individuals with low Intolerance took the most advice;and the individuals with high Intolerance under low time pressure took the lowest advice.On the basis of experiment 1,a between subjects design of 2（Intolerance of uncertainty: high Intolerance of uncertainty and low Intolerance of uncertainty）× 2（advice cost: high advice cost and low advice cost）was used to explore the influence of advice cost and Intolerance of uncertainty on advice taking under high time pressure.In experiment 2,the main effect of Intolerance of uncertainty was significant（F=36.080,P<0.001）,the main effect of cost was significant（F=32.668,P<0.001）,and the interaction between them was marginal（F=3.919,P=0.054）.Conclusion:（4）High advice cost made subjects take more advice.（6）Under high time pressure and high advice cost,the individuals with low Intolerance took the most advice;and the individuals with high Intolerance under low advice cost took the lowest advice.
