| Due to the impact of COVID-19,the traditional offline teaching mode has been greatly impacted.Some Chinese students’ overseas study plans have been forced to change,and many students are facing difficulties in studying.In view of this,the online teaching mode of overseas universities emerged.Due to the specific nature of the online teaching method,,relevant interpreters involved in the course not only need to have solid competencies,but also need to have the ability to deal with emergencies flexibly.This paper is a practice report based on the consecutive interpretation conducted by the author in an online class of an overseas university.In terms of content,this report mainly presents the preparation and implementation process of the interpretation task,and evaluates the actual performance of the interpreter.Through the combination of theoretical and practical experience,the author makes an in-depth analysis of the problems including missing,misinterpretation,disfluency and improper personal manners,then discusses the causes of the problems,as well as the challenges they bring to the task.Based on this,the author proposes ways to solve the above problems by specific interpreting tactics such as translation omission,simplification and generalization,so as to improve the author’s interpretation ability and level in the future and provide references for future interpreters involved in remote classroom interpretation task. |
