"Soul-touching Voices" Rachmaninoff Romances Explore ——Studies On The Two Works "Lilacs" And "Vocalise"

Sergei Vassilievitch Rachmaninoff,a world-renowned pianist,composer and conductor in the late 19 th century and early 20 th century,is a rare musician in the history of Russian music and is called "the last Russian Romanticism" by later generations.The melody of Rachmaninoff’s music is smooth and beautiful,and the harmony texture is rich and changeable.The melody is full of strong Russian national flavor and mixed with mysterious melancholy color,nationality and tragedy coexist.Piano accompaniment occupies a high position in his romantic works.The choice of words mostly focuses on reflecting social phenomena or emotional catharsis;The combination of delicate poetry and music makes it easier to understand its profound connotation.Rachmaninoff is good at using music to express emotions,using music as a medium to integrate his thoughts into it and give music the ability of "being" empathy,so as to touch people’s souls.In this thesis,Rachmaninoff’s romances are analyzed and studied by taking the two works of Lilacs and Vocalise as examples.By comparing the same theme of "Lilacs" and using vocal music and piano two different forms of expression to analyze,reflect the diversity and difference of its musical emotion expression;This thesis compares and analyzes the different interpretation methods of four different singers,summarizes the individual differences of their interpretation by sorting out their creative background,growth experience and style characteristics,and probes into the artistry and special charm of Rachmaninoff’s music.The first chapter starts from the development of Russian romances,and deduces Rachmaninoff’s writing style through a brief introduction and brief description of the composer’s characteristics.The second chapter will collect Rachmaninoff’s life literature materials for analysis,and then through the analysis of several examples of his music in the creation of national,religious and tragic style characteristics;The third chapter divides Rachmaninoff’s romances into different periods and explains the characteristics of his romances.Chapter four is the key chapter of this thesis,taking two Rachmaninoff’s romances as examples,detailed analysis of their melody,accompaniment,singing and multi-angle comparative study.Rachmaninoff’s romances have strong expressive force and appeal,and the melody part and rich and complete piano accompaniment can better realize the empathy between the composer,singer and audience,touch the souls.
