A Preliminary Study On The Protection Of Engravings Of Ancient Books

Ancient book engraving can also be called "ancient book plate",which refers to carving text or images on wooden boards.The carved wood can be covered with paper and ink and printed on it,and finally made into a book.My country’s engraving and printing has been born for more than a thousand years and has promoted the development of the world’s civilization history.As the physical predecessor of printed ancient books,ancient book carvings have played an important role in the process of historical and cultural inheritance.As a wooden material,engraving is often damaged by insects,fire,natural and man-made damage,and it is not easy to preserve.The engravings that have been preserved to this day have lasted for more than a hundred years.They are historical relics and carriers of historical documents.They are extremely precious and need to be protected urgently.This thesis is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the meaning of the topic,research summary,research content and research methods.The second part is the second chapter of this article.Since the prosperity of engraving printing,historical documents record the history of engraving protection.From the perspective of a large period of time,the history of ancient engraving protection in my country is divided into three periods: ancient engraving protection(Song Dynasty to the end of Qing Dynasty)),modern engraving protection(the Republic of China period)and modern and contemporary engraving protection(1949to present).Through combing the protection of engraving plates,we can fully grasp the process and specific measures of engraving protection in history.The third part is the third chapter of this article.Through extensive access to information,we have investigated the number,age,source and status of the engravings of the engraving preservation units currently announced in our country.According to the statistics of the number and age of the existing engravings,there must be existing engravings.A large number of damages may be caused by fire and water,war,man-made damage and aging.The fourth part is the fourth chapter of this article.Based on the available information,it discusses the method of engraving sorting,the specific measures of engraving protection,the cataloging items of engraving cataloging,the meaning of engraving protection and the construction of the protection system,so as to excavate the engraving of ancient books in the future.Lay the foundation for its academic value.The fifth part is the conclusion of this article.Through a more comprehensive investigation,the significance of strengthening the protection of ancient book carvings is discussed here,and suggestions and countermeasures are provided for contemporary protection of ancient book carvings.
