A Study On The Contact Between Xinfeng Mandarin And Surrounding Hakka Dialects

This dissertation mainly investigates the characteristics of Xinfeng dialect and its language contact with the surrounding Hakka dialects,and makes a comparative study of Southwest Mandarin dialect,mainly Chengdu dialect and also slightly involes Nanjing dialect,in order to explore its contact with the surrounding Hakka dialects.Ganzhou and Xinfeng dialects are located in Ganzhou area,or Gannan,so Ganzhou and Xinfeng dialects are also called Gannan dialect.Gannan dialects belongs to southwest mandarin dialect,but it is not divided into areas.Gannan dialects have most of the general characteristics of Southwest Mandarin dialect,but there are also some differences.As a dialect island surrounded by Hakka dialect,Gannan dialects inevitably receives the influence of Hakka dialect.Based on the investigation and study of Xinfeng dialect and Ganzhou dialect,this dissertation analyzes its contact with Hakka dialect from the aspects of phone,lexis and grammar,and then makes a detailed and comprehensive investigation of Xinfeng dialect in combination with the comparative analysis of Southwest Mandarin dialect,Jianghuai Mandarin,especially Nanjing Mandarin,trying to explore the causes of its formation from the linguistic perspective,which greatly enriches the contact theory of language between the Mandarin dialect and Hakka dialect.And describes the language contact between Xinfeng dialect and the surrounding Hakka dialects in a pioneering and meticulous way.This dissertation can be divided into six chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which mainly introduces the general situation of Xinfeng dialect and the research status of the contact between Xinfeng dialect and the surrounding Hakka dialects,analyzes the purpose and significance of this dissertation,and briefly introduces the basic situation of the speaker.The second chapter mainly describes the phonetic contact between Xinfeng dialect and the surrounding Hakka dialects.Based on the investigation and analysis of Xinfeng dialect and the surrounding Hakka dialects,this dissertation gives a detailed description of the phonological characteristics of Xinfeng dialect and the surrounding Hakka dialects.Six dialect points are selected for Xinfeng dialect in different regions,and four dialect points are selected for Hakka dialect.At the same time,it makes a comparative analysis of the phonological characteristics of Ganzhou and Chengdu dialect.The third chapter mainly describes the contact between Xinfeng dialect and the surrounding Hakka dialect vocabulary.According to the lexis of the survey,combined with W.Swadesh's 200 words list,common words,characteristic words and dialect characteristic words of some dialect points in Jiangxi Province,this dissertation systematically analyzes the contact between Xinfeng dialect and the surrounding Hakka dialect vocabulary by comparing the lexis characteristics ofGanzhou and Chengdu dialect.The fourth chapter is the study of the grammatical contact between Xinfeng dialect and the surrounding Hakka dialect.Grammar is divided into lexical and syntactic,and analyzed respectively.The fifth chapter discusses the origin of Xinfeng and Ganzhou dialects,two mandarin dialect islands in Gannan.This dissertation analyzes the origin of Gannan dialects dialect by comparing it with southwest mandarin dialect in phone,lexis and grammar mentioned above,combined with relevant historical materials.The sixth chapter lists the shortcomings of this study in the research process.
