United States V. Juvenile Male English-Chinese Translation Practice Report

Juvenile delinquency has long been one of the common social problems in different countries.In recent years,the increasement of media exposure of juvenile delinquency in China has arouse more public concern.There are still some problems to be solved in the trial and judgment of juvenile delinquency cases in China.The translation practicing report of United States v.Juvenile Male shows a complete representation of the trial process of a juvenile defendant in the United States District Court.The language of this legal text is typical legal English,which is rigorous,normative and logical.In the process of translation,the translator,combining the characteristic of legal English translation,tries to analyze the translation text from three levels – terms,sentences and discourses.It is hoped that the translation report can provide reference and inspiration for legal translation such as translation of opinions and juvenile delinquency cases,popularize relevant legal knowledge and offer reference materials for judicial work related to juvenile delinquency.
