A Study Of Lukács' Historical Dialectics Thought

In his work History and Class Consciousness,published in 1923,Lukács documented his fundamental shift from ideology to Marxism.Through his study of Marx and his thought,Lukács understood Marx's idea of historical materialism in this work as a “dialectic of history”.Lukács removes dialectics from the realm of nature and places it in the realm of history.In this book,Lukács gives an insightful account of his understanding of a range of philosophical issues in Marxism.Encapsulating in his ideas of historical dialectics is his exposition and understanding of Marxism and its philosophical perspectives.In History and Class Consciousness,Lukács focuses on the three theories of the general category,the theory of objectification,and class consciousness,viewing them as the existential basis,existential action,and theoretical self-consciousness of historical dialectical thought,respectively.At the same time,Lukács takes "history" as the starting point to transform and reverse Hegel's dialectic in the historical field,trying to complete the radical transformation of Hegel's natural dialectic in this way.Lukács treats the idea of historical dialectics in the historical field,considers materialization as a historical fact of capitalist society,and outlines the historical logic of human existence in this way:dematerialization — — materialization — — abandonment of materialization.abandonment of materialization.Contrary to Marx's theory of alienation and class consciousness,Lukács puts the dialectic in the field of "history" to understand human existence,but Lukács is deeply influenced by Hegel's thought,which ultimately leads to his historical dialectic thought failing to complete the inversion and transcendence of Hegel,and his thought has obvious Hegelian overtones.However,it is undeniable that Lukács achieved the "historicization" of dialectics,and in his analysis of historical facts,Lukács opened up a path to Marx.In this paper,on the basis of Lukács' historical dialectic,we compare Lukács' conception of history,the theory of objectification,and the idea of class consciousness with Marx's ideas,and further discover the Marxist position of Lukács' historical dialectic and the limitations and incompleteness of his ideas.We are inspired to break through the theoretical dilemma of Lukács' historical dialectic when studying Marxism at present,to defend the spiritual essence of Marxism,and to be Marxists who really understand and believe in it.
