Post-anticipatory Construction "where Is A, It's Simply B" Research

This dissertation describes and analyses the counter-expectation construction of "nalishi A,jianzhishi B" based on the Construction Grammar.According to Goldberg’s definition of construction,this dissertation identifies "nalishi A,jianzhishi B" and clarifies that it is a construction,and the meaning of the construction is that the speaker expresses the subjective evaluation of the described thing or event by negating A and affirming B.Through the analysis of the sections of the construction,it is concluded that "A" and "B" in the construction are diverse,which can be noun phrases,predicate phrases and clauses.In terms of syntactic function,the construction mainly connects two components to form a complex sentence,and a few serve as a component of a simple sentence.The "nalishi A" in the construction of "nalishi A,jianzhishi B" is a rhetorical question,expressing a negative meaning.By analyzing the corpus,the dissertation makes it clear that this construction can not only express semantic negation,negating the truth condition of a sentence,but also express pragmatic negation,negating the appropriate condition of a sentence.On the basis of this research,coupled with the analysis of the semantic relationship between A and B in the construction,the dissertation summarizes two semantic types of the construction: one is to completely negate A and to affirm B;the other is to not completely negate A and fully affirm B.In order to explore the construction process of the constructional meaning of prepragmatic negation,this dissertation uses the Conceptual Integration theory to research,and it is clear that the constructional meaning is derived from the emergent structure in the conceptual integration network.The construction of "nalishi A,jianzhishi B" is a counter-expectation construction.Its main pragmatic function is to express counter-expectation information.This construction has three types of counter-expectations,which are contrary to the expectations of the speaker,the expectations of the listener,and the expectations shared by the specific speech society.In addition,the construction of "nalishi A,jianzhishi B" not only has the expression characteristics of subjective evaluation,interactive subjectivity,emphasis and humor,but also has the discourse function of eliciting the following,connecting the above and the following,and summing up the above.
