With the development of people's cognitive ability,the semantics of “An” are constantly enriched,and a huge Chinese word group is produced.In this paper,“An”word group is selected as the research object.The paper is supported by the theory of prototype and categorization and family similarity in the cognitive linguistics.Based on cognitive-culture mechanism research,this paper adopts the method of statistical induction and document research to analyze “An” word group.In Chinese,“An” word group refers to the integration of words and phrases with an internal etymological relationship in the semantic system.These words are related to “An” in meaning and take “An” as a morpheme in shape.The motivation of studying Chinese “An” Group is to explore the structure and semantic characteristics of its internal words and phrases,revealing the cognitive basis and the cultural connotation behind the words.All of these studies is to combine with teaching of Chinese as a foreign language and to provide reference value for international students to learn Chinese words.In modern Chinese,the meaning of word is seen as a large network organization,which needs to be expressed with the help of words' form.This paper describes the original meaning of the word.First,through analyzing the form of “An”,it can determine the original meaning of “An”,that is,peace and tranquility.This paper explores the extended meaning of “An” from its original meaning,and then finds that many extended meanings of “An” are interrelated,they form a semantic category based on its original meaning.Secondly,it analyzes the structure and meaning of compound words and idioms so that we can have a clearer understanding of their formation.Moreover,from the perspective of cognition,the generation of “An”Group is the product of Chinese ancestors' cognition of the objective world.From the cultural point of view,“An” word group has distinctive characteristics of Chinese culture.Through investigating representative words in “An” word group,it can be concluded that the Chinese ancestors always yearn for a stable and peaceful life.Finally based on teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,the paper calculates the number of “An” word group in The Graded Chinese Syllables,Characters and Words for the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages and textbooks.It also analyzes the usage frequency of “An” word group in HSK dynamic composition corpus.It can be seen from this,“An” word group mainly concentrate in intermediate and advanced stage.So this paper focuses on intermediate and advanced level students,taking the common vocabulary of “An” word group as a main example,combining with teaching principles of learning Chinese vocabulary to put forward the teaching methods of “An” word group for Chinese learners.And it also integrates the content of cultural teaching to help foreign students improve the efficiency of learning Chinese.This paper found that the formation and development of “An”word group is closely related to the cognitive style of Chinese ancestors,it reflects the personality of Chinese nation.In terms of development trend,some common words in “An” word group have become an important part of teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.So it is very significant to analyze the internal structure and semantic category of words.Meanwhile,foreign students learn the highly productive morphemes,which can help them master some Chinese formation characteristics and understand the association of morpheme meaning,so as to expand their vocabulary.
