The secondary development of English materials is a new requirement for teaching materials management put forward by the concept of new curriculum reform.The new English curriculum standard of vocational high school requires the Core Competencies and Values of Subject as the educational goal of the curriculum,which puts forward new requirements for English classroom teaching and management.The English foundation of vocational high school students is generally poor,and they are lack of learning interest and motivation,resulting in low classroom efficiency,which brings great difficulty to teachers' classroom teaching management.How to learn English well and how to organize the teaching effectively and achieve the expected teaching objectives are the thorny problems in the English teaching of vocational high schools in China.The teachers of English teaching and research group in the vocational high school where the author works are also trying to change this situation and break this impasse by improving the quality of English teaching.Therefore,the idea of secondary development of teaching materials was supported by school leaders and teachers,which also laid a foundation for the smooth progress of this research.In this study,the core concepts are identified and the research trends at home and abroad are grasped by referring to relevant literature and materials,so as to clarify the research direction.The research framework is designed according to the process of secondary development of teaching materials and the connotation of core literacy of English subject.Through the questionnaire survey and analysis of hundreds of students,it is proved that the secondary development of teaching materials is effective and feasible in improving the English teaching level of vocational high school.At the same time,we interviewed more than ten English teacher and the registrar,listened to their valuable opinions on the secondary development of teaching materials.Finally,summarized the process of secondary development of vocational high school English teaching materials,and put forward corresponding management suggestions.
