Study On Interpretation System In Wuyishan National Park

The research and utilization of China’s National Park interpretation system are still in an infancy state.Wuyishan National Park have rich natural and cultural interpretation resources.It is capable of being a typical example of the National Park interpretation system.It is rich in natural interpretation resources include geological landscape,geological landscape formation history,forest vegetation,wildlife,forest ecosystem resource and meteorological resource,as well as the results of Wuyishan National Park’s conservation,scientific research and monitoring.Cultural interpretation resources include the history of the development of the National Park,the culture of Zhuzi’s philosophy,Taoism,Buddhism,the culture of Guyue,tea,academic and cliff carvings.This study bases on field research in the Wuyishan National Park,combines with questionnaires,uses the Importance Performance Analysis method to investigate the existing interpretation resources and interpretation systems in Wuyishan National Park,includes interpretation resources,interpretation audiences and interpretation media,interpretation media includes signage systems;integrated indoor venues;educational activities;publications;multimedia and new media.The result indicates,visitors to Wuyishan National Park are predominantly the young(21.36%)and middle-aged(15.74),with a higher level of education,more disposable income.Their primary motivation is nature appreciation.Besides,result indicates the interpretation system is not sufficiently valued and maintained,with insufficient store of interpretation profession resource,weak sense of national park excellence,inadequate exploitation of interpretation resources and inadequate satisfaction of visitor needs.By collating the interpretation resources,five interpretation themes covering the natural and cultural interpretation resources of Wuyishan National Park are raised,which provides references for the planning of the natural education interpretation system in Wuyishan National Park.Provides theoretical basis and example study for its interpretation resources.This study classifies visitors into five types by their level of need and action towards environmental protection:leisurely sightseers,first-tier potential visitors,upwardly mobile visitors,second-tier potential visitors,and active explorers,emphasizing the potential for lower-level visitors to be guided into upperlevel visitor types through interpretive services,providing a new direction for thinking about interpretive audience types.Improvements to the Wuyishan National Park interpretation system will help achieve the management objectives of conservation.Based on results,the following recommendations are proposed:(1)Set the goal of stimulating visitors’ heritage and conservation behavior.(2)Keep abreast of the times,systematic science,popular science,practical convenience,and ecological principles as the principles of interpretation;(3)Clarify the types of interpretation audiences and facilitate the use of different methods of interpretation services for different types of visitors;(4)In-depth excavation of interpretation resources and clarification of interpretation themes;(5)Bring on the series of suggestions for the interpretation medium optimization,including improving the training mechanism for interpretation staff,building the platform for volunteer services,forming high-quality activities in national parks,and refining the management of the signage system to enhance the interpretation effect;(6)Improving the management mechanism,building feedback mechanism,and regularly run assessments and adjustments to the interpretation system.
