Since China’s accession to the WTO,the export trade of mechanical and electrical products has developed rapidly, and the continuous growth of the export trade of mechanical and electrical products has become the main driving force for economic development. However, with the large consumption of coal, diesel, electricity and other energy in industrial production and the continuous increase of related industrial inputs,China’s export trade of mechanical and electrical products involves a large number of implied carbon emissions.Studies have shown that international trade leads to a considerable spatial transfer of the implied carbon between countries, with 25% of the carbon dioxide being used for overseas consumption. As a major trading country of mechanical and electrical products,China is a net exporter of carbon emissions of mechanical and electrical products trade. This is contrary to the current low-carbon industrial development model characterized by "high efficiency, low energy consumption, low emission and high carbon sink",and is not conducive to sustainable development. How much does China’s electronics and electrical industry contribute to CO2? In this context, how to better play its "engine" function and further optimize the potential carbon emission sources and energy structure of China’s electromechanical products exports on this basis? What factors will affect China’s export of mechanical and electrical products? This paper adopts the method of combining quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis, and comprehensively uses comparative analysis, mathematical model analysis, econometric model analysis and other research methods to further study the following issues:The hidden carbon emissions related to international trade are reviewed, the theoretical mechanism and empirical results related to it are sorted out,and the measurement methods related to it are compared and classified. After analyzing the current situation of China’s export trade of mechanical and electrical products and energy consumption,a single regional input-output model was used to measure the total implied carbon emissions of China’s export trade of mechanical and electrical products from 2005 to 2019,and its change trend was analyzed.Using the "environmental effect" theory of trade openness, this paper analyzes the internal relationship between "scale effect","technology effect","structure effect" and "carbon emissions" from three aspects of "scale effect","technology effect" and "structure effect",and on this basis, carries out three aspects of empirical analysis to test the impact of three aspects on "China China".Put forward relevant policy recommendations. The main contents are:adjust the structure of export commodities, appropriately restrict the export of those with high carbon emission intensity, and increase the import of energy-consuming intermediate products invested in the production of mechanical and electrical products to develop green industry.Adjust the energy consumption structure, increase the proportion of high-quality,efficient and low-carbon energy, make full use of rich industrial resources, develop clean energy and renewable energy, gradually replace the current petrochemical energy with new green energy, and introduce clean production technology;Promote low-carbon technological innovation, realize energy conservation and emission reduction in the whole process of production and export, control the consumption of intermediate products, and reduce intermediate links,so as to reduce carbon emissions caused by energy consumption in industrial terminals;...
