As one of the first pilot cities in China to carry out domestic waste classification,Beijing has made a lot of efforts to promote the work, but the results are not satisfactory. The initiative of Beijing residents to classify domestic waste is still not high, and their habits of classifying domestic waste is far from being developed.Residents as the main body of domestic waste classification, the research on the domestic waste classification behavior of Beijing residents has become a key part of promoting the work. This thesis selects Beijing residents’ domestic waste classification behavior as a case study to explore, and studies the influencing factors of the domestic waste classification behavior from the perspective of ethology.By constructing the theoretical framework of domestic waste classification and guided by Grounded Theory,in-depth interviews and scales were conducted, and a large number of questionnaires were distributed to learn the influencing factors of Beijing residents’ domestic waste classification behavior.Based on the analysis of three-level coding of grounded theory,a theoretical model of influencing factors of residents’ domestic waste classification behavior is constructed with “influencing factors of residents’ domestic waste classification behavior ” as the core, and the main categories are behavior characteristics, value perception, moral concept, behavior following and publicity management. On this basis, statistical analysis and empirical analysis are carried out,it is found that the monthly household income has a significant regularity on residents’ domestic waste classification behavior, and value perception, moral concept, behavior perception and publicity management are identified as the main factors affecting the domestic waste classification behavior of Beijing residents.Among them, value perception and moral concept have the greatest influence.According to the research results, targeted measures are formulated to improve the moral concept and value perception level of residents participating in the classification of domestic waste. In addition,by strengthening behavioral guidance and improving publicity and manage work methods, the purpose of improving the work level of domestic waste classification in Beijing is achieved.Based on the theoretical model construction and empirical analysis of the domestic waste classification behavior of Beijing residents, this thesis proposes a theoretical framework for behavior change suitable for cities in the initial stage of domestic waste classification,so as to enrich the theoretical model and empirical research on domestic waste classification behavior in China and provide a more valuable reference for the scientific formulation of domestic waste classification policies.
