Establishing a smart production workshop and improving the information management methods can increase production,which is an currently important research topic in the custom furniture industry.The effect of edge of furniture parts is the most direct impact on the appearance of the product.At the same time,the maximum impact on production efficiency in furniture intelligence is the edge banding process.Therefore,this paper analyzed the theory of intelligent edge banding process and control methods,investigated the production and management status of the target enterprise edge banding process.Combining the construction factors and workshop control systems of the smart production line,it proposed the construction of the smart production line and control method of the edge banding process.The specific research results are as follows:(1)On the basis of literature review,it analyzed the application status of the edge banding technology.The most commonly used edge of the panel furniture was manually,automatic,intelligent coexistence,besides the smart edge was still in the primary stage.It reviewed the control method of the edge banding process and found the management methods were mainly based on MES,but the study of information control over the system platform was still defective.(2)Through the method of on-site investigation,it investigated the production,information management and control and equipment management of the edge banding process of a custom furniture enterprise.Among them,the edge banding process included 14 production lines and 73 edge banding machines.The information management and control included the management and control of processing information,material information and quality information of production information.Equipment management included the specific content of inspection,maintenance,and spare parts management.The investigation showed that the production of the edge banding process had the problems of incoherent plate transfer and high labor demand.In terms of information management and control,there was a problem of slow collection and update speed.And there was a problem of backward management methods in equipment management.The above provided a practical basis for follow-up research.(3)According to the research analysis,combined with the construction factors of the intelligent edge banding process,it was clear that the core function of the smart production of the edge banding was automatically identified,automatic edge banding,quality detection,and automatic transportation.Key to the information management method of the edge banding was adding the function of computing edge band demand,receiving materials and establishing a quality control process that adapts to the intelligent edge banding process.Simultaneously,edge banding equipment needed to be managed based on TPM technology and MES platform as a key measure to improve equipment operation efficiency.(4)According to the construction method of the intelligent production line,it constructed an intelligent production line of edge banding process consisting of scanning code system,smart edge banding machines,line control system,caching warehouse and quality detection system.Based on the MES platform architecture,it established the basic framework of information management method of edge banding process,including: processing information,material information,quality information.Under the guidance of TPM,it established an equipment control subsystem based on MES,including data management,inspection management,maintenance management and spare parts management four functions.(5)It adopted the methods of comparative analysis and OEE evaluation,and compared the intelligent production line of the edge banding process with the traditional edge banding line.It analyzed the production situation,information control and equipment management.Among them,the production situation mainly analyzed the transportation mode,inspection method and production capacity in the edge banding process.Compared with the traditional edge banding process,the result was that the intelligent edge banding process could reduce the production personnel by 20% and the quality inspectors by 90%,and increased the per capita production capacity by 54.61%.In terms of information management and control methods,the real-time collection and update of information could be realized,which can effectively improved the operation efficiency of the workshop.In terms of equipment management,the OEE of edge banding machines had increased by 5%.
