The emergence of today’s food safety and production environment shows that proper nutrition cognition and diet planning are important foundations for social development, and food education in the preschool age will influence their lifelong food choice behavior, and this is an important prerequisite for children’s healthy growth. At present, there are few studies on children’s food education in China, and in the field of design application it is mostly the design practice of a single product, lacking the attention to the interactive experience of food education.Situational cognition and learning theories have been proven by design researchers to be effective in improving user experience, but they have not been applied to the study of children’s food education learning process. Therefore,by intervening in the design of preschool children’s food education experience from a situational perspective,we can clarify the internal and external situational elements of children, build a situational experience design method of food education with user experience as the core, and finally improve children’s food cognitive ability and cultivate correct eating behavior. In this context, the views and applications of situational cognition and learning theory, the concepts and applications of interaction experience design, the content levels and cognitive factors of children’s food education are sorted out,and the value of situational cognition and learning for the design of food education interaction experience is summarized. The situational learning interactive experience model is introduced, and the situational elements of the preschool children group in the process of food education learning are collected by questionnaire survey, the situational model of food education interactive experience is divided into three dimensions: user context triggers food sensory cognitive experience, physical context constructs food physical behavior experience and social context connects food social-emotional experience.Under the guidance of this model, the study focus on the picture books, explore the interactive experience of food education context with paper as the carrier string.Firstly, combining with the problem of setting up the elements of the food-education context learning model, the needs and influencing factors of children and parents in food-education picture book learning are collected through stepwise interviews, and the core needs and design opportunity points are clarified by card classification and theme network methods;secondly, the form of input channels and output channels in human-paper interaction are extracted through case studies, and the experiences in the food-education context model are linked to output the paper interaction in the food-education context; Finally, based on the summary of the above requirements and methods, the design framework of paper interaction experience in the context of food education and the situational layering innovation method are proposed to guide the design practice in the next chapter.Under the guidance of the design method, the sweet flavor is selected for practice in the five flavors of food context design picture scenario to design the sugar education-themed interactive picture book "Follow the Sugar to Travel",and the test results show that the paper context brings sensory cognitive, physical behavioral, and socio-emotional experiences for children to learn food knowledge.situational food education picture book innovation helps parents, food education teachers, designers and other food education workers understand preschool children’s food learning needs, and also brings new thinking and innovative design methods for future food education product design practices.
