| With the popularization and promotion of popular science education in the world,popular science toys have become a kind of educational toys with great development prospects in the market.How to design popular science toys for children of all ages and implement them in certain toy categories,and meet the physiological and psychological needs of children of all ages,is a problem that needs attention for toy designers and early education researchers.This study explores the combination of volcano knowledge and children’s popular science toys through the field investigation of Ulanhada volcano’s structure,types,eruption,surrounding topography and human environment,and in-depth analysis of representative children’s popular science toys at home and abroad.Based on the analysis and investigation of children’s users of all ages,the design objects are divided into three age groups: 3-6 years old,6-9 years old and 9-12 years old,and the design orientation of children’s popular science toys with the theme of Ulanhada volcano is put forward.Based on the design orientation,the design ideas are put forward,and the volcanic popular science toys with three purposes of popular science knowledge,concentration exercise and active thinking are designed respectively. |
