Lingnan folk culture is an indispensable part of Chinese culture.It refers to the folk culture inherited from Guangdong,Guangxi,and Hainan regions,and is a unique cultural form formed by various factors such as history,geography,climate,ethnicity,belief,and religion.It covers various aspects such as architecture,education,language,cuisine,overseas Chinese culture,folk crafts,festivals,etc.In addition to its significant historical,cultural,and artistic values,Lingnan folk culture is also an important force driving local economic and social development.Therefore,it is necessary to continuously enhance the presence of Lingnan folk culture and promote the development of cultural industries in the Lingnan region.Children are not only receivers and inheritors of culture,but also creators of culture during their growing up process.They accept cultural content and values through imitation,observation,and storytelling,gradually forming their own cultural cognition and behavioral patterns,which have a profound influence on their thinking and behavior.Toys are important companions for children in their growth process,and as an important medium for traditional cultural education for children,they can subtly affect children’s growth and the inheritance and development of traditional culture.However,although China is one of the world’s largest toy-consuming countries,toys with true Chinese cultural connotations are rare.Currently,domestic products lack cultural connotations,have similar shapes,and lack creative design.Based on this problem,this study designed a series of children’s puzzle toys with spiritual cultural connotations and educational significance based on Lingnan folk culture,and analyzed their specific application practices.The aim of this project is to incorporate Lingnan folk culture into the design of children’s puzzle toys in order to stimulate children’s interest in this culture.To achieve this goal,theoretical foundations such as cognitive development theory and experience design will be combined to explore the key points and principles of innovative toy design in the context of Lingnan folk culture.This will provide new ideas for the development of Lingnan folk culture while also allowing children to learn about and spread this culture.To increase children’s interest,augmented reality(AR)functionality will be added.AR technology integrates virtual 3D scenes and special effects into the real world,allowing children to obtain detailed information about objects from different perspectives through AR glasses and providing a better sensory experience through visual,auditory,and tactile senses.In the cognitive process,children can also gain more knowledge about the extended Lingnan folk culture.The focus will be on physical puzzle toys,with AR glasses as a supplement,allowing virtual reality items to be seamlessly integrated with real-world toys.Finally,based on the research and data analysis,the Lingnan Awakening Lion culture was chosen as the theme due to its impression and popularity among the people.Using the proposed theories and methods,a Lingnan folk culture-based children’s puzzle toy experience design was created,which incorporated elements of Lingnan folk culture into the toy design.This could help to enhance children’s understanding and awareness of Lingnan culture.
