| Purpose:To discuss the therapeutic effect of warm needle for simple obesity treatment(spleen-deficiency type).Method:According to the standard inclusion exclusion criteria,60 volunteers were recruited to participate in this clinical research.They were divided into two groups of acupuncture and warm needle,30 volunteers in each group.For both groups the therapy of acupuncture was applied to 16 points including Quchi,(LI11)Waiguan(SJ5),Hegu(LI4),Zhongwan(RN12),Shuifen(RN9),Qihai(RN6),Tianshu(ST25),Daheng(SP15),Xuehai(SP10),Yinlingquan(SP9),Zusanli(ST36),Fenglong(ST40),Sanyinjiao(SP6),Neiting(ST44),Taibai(SP3)and Pishu(BL20).As in Warm needle group,In addition to the aforementioned acupoints moxibustion was applied to Yinlingquan and Taibai.The duration of treatment is 3 times a week for 4 weeks,total of 12 times.This research investigated clinical symptoms and various obesity index including body weight,body mass index(BMI),waist-hip ratio(WHR),waist circumference,hip circumference,body fat rate(F%),visceral fat(VFA)and body water rate.Result:Comparison of clinical symptoms:before and after result of treatment in acupuncture group:"appetite,fatigue,loating,loose stools,aversion to cold,low back and knee pain,facial swelling and bnocturia" these symptoms index decreased(P<0.05).It can be assumed that acupuncture can improve.In warm needle group,these symptoms index obviously decreased(P<0.01),that means Warm needle obviously can also improve these symptoms.However,after compare the result of each treatment,the curative effect of warm needle group was better and higher than acupuncture group.Group inside comparison:before and after treatment of obesity indexs in both groups:body weight,BMI,waist circumference,hip circumference,F%,VFA and body water rate the results of after treatment are better than Before treatment(P<0.01).As for two groups comparison,we compare body weight,BMI,hip circumference,VFA" and found that warm needle group’s index decreased in the better rate than in acupuncture group(P<0.05).Whereas,warm needle group’s WHR,Waist circumference Using Wilcoxon rank-sum test to analyze the data collected from this research,the result was statistic significant(P<0.01).Therefore,it was significantly different when compare between two groups(P<0.05).It is suggested that the clinical effect of warm needle is better than the treatment using only acupuncture.F%in the warm needle group significantly decreased more than that in the acupuncture group(P<0.01).this result suggests that the clinical effect of warm needle is better than acupuncture only treatment for improving various obesity indexs in simple obesity..Based on the Wilcoxon rank-sum test to analyze the data collected from this research,the result was statistic significant(P<0.01).The cases from acupuncture group were various;3 clinical recovery cases(10.00%),9 conspicuous effect cases(30.00%),11 effective cases(36.70%)and 7 ineffective cases(23.30%).In summary,the total effective rate was 76.70%in acupuncture only treatment.In warm needle group,there were 7 clinical recovery cases(23.30%),14 conspicuous effect cases(46.70%),6 effective cases(13.30%)and 3 ineffective cases(10.00%).In summary,the total effective rate was 90.00%in warm needle group.Therefore,it was significantly different between the two groups(P<0.05).The research results,therefore,suggest that the clinical effect of warm needle is better than the treatment using only acupuncture.According to the research result,the clinical symptoms of simple obesity and various obesity index significantly improved for both acupuncture and warm needle these improvements included decreases in body weight,BMI,WHR,F%,VFA and other obesity indexes.However,the warm needle group was more effective than acupuncture group(P<0.01).It is suggested that the clinical effect of warm needle is better than the treatment using only acupuncture. |
