Therapeutic Effect Of Acupuncture At "Er Bian Tong Tiao Five Points" On Heat Accumulation Functional Constipation

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture at "er bian tong tiao five points" on functional constipation(FC)of heat accumulation type.Methods:72 patients with heat accumulation FC were randomly divided into "er bian tong tiao five points" group(experimental group)and conventional acupuncture group(control group),with 36 cases in each group.Both groups were treated once every other day,12 times as a course of treatment,a total of one course of treatment.The scores of constipation clinical score scale(CCS),quality of life scale for patients with constipation(PAC-QOL)and Bristol fecal traits scale(BSFS)were used as efficacy observation indexes.The score changes of the scale before and after treatment were recorded and evaluated,and followed up one month after the end of treatment to observe its short-term effects.Results:1.General data: there was no significant difference in gender,age,course of disease and pre-treatment scale score between the two groups(P> 0.05).2.Scale score: there was significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P < 0.001);After treatment,there was significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05).After treatment,the scores of CCS and PAC-QOL decreased,and the scores of BSFS increased,the experimental group was better than the control group in improving the clinical symptoms,quality of life and fecal traits of FC patients.3.Clinical efficacy: the total effective rates of the test group and the control group were 94.29% and 88.57%respectively.The clinical efficacy of the test group was better than that of the control group.There was a statistical difference between the two groups(P< 0.05).4.Recurrence during the follow-up period: one month after the end of treatment,the recurrence rates of the test group and the control group were14.29% and 40.00% respectively.The short-term effects of the test group was better than that of the control group.There was a statistical difference between the two groups in terms of recurrence(P < 0.05).Conclusion:Both methods can effectively treat heat accumulation FC,and acupuncture at "er bian tong tiao five points" is superior to conventional acupuncture in improving clinical symptoms,quality of life,fecal properties of FC patients and its short-term effects.
