Objective: To observe the clinical effect of electroacupuncture on improving postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic radical gastrectomy for cancer. Methods: The 88 patients with postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic radical surgery after gastric cancer meeting the inclusion criteria were randomized into treatment group(44 patients)and control group(44 patients). The patients in control group were given the routine postoperative treatment; In the treatment group, electroacupuncture was coupled with the control group treatment. After five days of continuous treatment, the two groups of patients were compared in terms of the time of first postoperative exhaust and defecation, the postoperative feeding time, postoperative abdominal distention and pain score, postoperative nausea and vomiting score, postoperative recovery condition of bowel sounds, length of postoperative stays and total stays, and their clinical efficacy was analyzed. Results: After a five-day treatment, compared with the control group, the first exhaust time, first defecation time, and recovery time of feeding in the treatment group were earlier(P < 0.05).Abdominal distension and pain score and nausea and vomiting score of two groups had no statistical significance at the beginning(P > 0.05),compared with pre-treatment,the symptoms of abdominal distension, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting in two groups were both improved after treatment(P < 0.01).The comparison between groups showed the abdominal distension and pain score and nausea and vomiting score are better than that of the control group after treatment;the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).The recovery of bowel sound in the treatment group was better improved than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).The length of postoperative stays of the treatment group was significantly earlier, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the total hospitalization time between the two groups(P > 0.05).The total effective rate of the treatment group was 92.31%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 82.50%,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion: Electroacupuncture can effectively improve postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction after laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery, and It has more advantages than routine treatment. It deserves further clinical application.
