Objective:1.Develop a questionnaire on the current situation of accidental injuries and self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of rural left-behind school-age children.2.To investigate the characteristics of accidental injury occurrence and the current situation of self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability among rural left-behind school-age children in Guizhou Province.3.To build a strategy for cultivating self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of left-behind school-age children in rural Guizhou Province from the perspective of "knowledge-attitude-practice" theory. Methods:Determined the initial pool of entries by the literature review method from February2020 to October 2020,and issued an expert correspondence questionnaire to 14 front-line clinical experts, and the "Accidental Injury Current Situation and Self-Rescue and Mutual-rescue Ability Questionnaire" for school-age children was determined through two rounds of Delphi expert correspondence and passed the reliability test.Based on the different percapita gross product of each region in Guizhou province in 2016,a stratified whole-group random sampling method was used for random sampling, and finally 306 cases of rural left-behind school-age children aged 6-16 years in Suiyang County,Sinan County, and Xingren City, three regions with different economic levels, were selected as the study subjects, and the "Accidental Injury Current Situation and Self-Rescue and Mutual-rescue Ability Questionnaire" was used from November 1,2020 to December 1,2020 to a conduct a baseline survey to understand the baseline situation of their accidental injury incidence rate, accidental injury occurrence characteristics, accidental injury influencing factors, and self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability(cognition, attitude, and behavior of accidental injury)variables among rural left-behind school-age children in Guizhou Province. After being informed of the situation,a focus group was established and discussed by relevant experts, and an intervention program was constructed by combining the "knowledge-attitude-practice" theory, and targeted, systematic and standardized training on self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability was applied to the study subjects from December 1,2020 to March 1,2021 according to the intervention program. After the training(immediately after the training and 3 months after the training),the effectiveness of the training program was evaluated through the Self-Rescue and Mutual-rescue Ability Questionnaire to assess the self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of rural left-behind school-age children.Results:1.Questionnaire development results(1)Delphi expert consultation results: The questionnaire on the current situation of accidental injuries and self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of rural left-behind school-age children contains 12 items, which are the general condition and accidental injuries of the respondents. The self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability section contains 20 items,including12 items in the accidental injury knowledge sectionas cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemostatic bandaging, airway foreign body and other related knowledge quiz. There were4 entries in the attitude section and 4 entries in the behavior section.(2)The results of the reliability analysis: the Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of the subquestionnaires represented by each factor in the questionnaire and the overall questionnaire were above 0.8.Exploratory factor analysis: the questionitems included in the 2 public factors were consistent with the original questionnaire design dimensions, and the factor loadings were above 0.7.2.Characteristics of accidental injury occurrence among rural left-behind school-age children in Guizhou Province and the current situation of self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability(1)The incidence of accidental injuries among left-behind school-age children in rural Guizhou province was 74.84%,and left-behind school-age children were more prone to accidental injuries compared with non-left-behind school-age children, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)Among the rural left-behind school-age children who had accidental injuries, the top 3injury types in order were: 111 cases of fall injuries(48.47%),59 cases of burns(25.76%),and 50 cases of animal injuries(21.83%).The largest number of injuries occurred in the extremities,180 cases(78.60%).The top 3 places where the accidental injuries occurred were: school 118 cases(51.53%),home 76 cases(33.19%),and field 12 cases(5.24%).When accidental injuries occurred, most of the left-behind school-age children did not deal with them, with the number of cases being 142(62.01%).Most of the left-behind school-age children would give help when their peers were injured in accidents, the number of cases was 221(96.51%).(3)The current situation of self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of accidental injury among rural left-behind school-age children in Guizhou province is: the number of cases with grade A is 0(0.00%),the number of cases with grade B is 1(0.33%),the number of cases with grade C is 24(7.84%),and the number of cases with grade D is 281(91.83%),and the overall self-rescue ability is poor.3.Effects of the intervention program based on the theory of " knowledge-attitude-practice" on the self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of rural left-behind school-age children in Guizhou Province(1)Immediately after the training, compared with the pre-training period, the total scores of self-rescue and mutual-rescue knowledge, attitude and behavior of rural left-behind school-age children in Guizhou Province were effectively improved compared with the pre-training period, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).(2)Compared with the pre-training period, the total scores of accidental injury knowledge, attitude and behavior of rural left-behind school-age children in Guizhou province were effectively improved 3 months after the training, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(3)The total scores of accidental injury knowledge, attitude and behavior were effectively improved 3 months after the training compared with the immediate post-training period, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.The reliability and validity of the Questionnaire on the Current Situation of Accidental Injuries and Self-Rescue and Mutual-rescue Ability were good, and it can be used as a research tool to investigate the current situation of accidental injuries and self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of left-behind school-age children in rural Guizhou Province.2.The incidence of accidental injuries among left-behind school-age children in rural Guizhou province is high, and left-behind school-age children are more prone to accidental injuries than non-left-behind school-age children. The overall level of self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of left-behind school-age children is low.3.Rural left-behind school-age children lack access to knowledge about accidental injuries and the ability to save themselves and each other.4.The intervention program based on the theory of "knowledge-attitude-practice" can effectively improve the self-rescue and mutual-rescue ability of rural left-behind school-age children in Guizhou Province.
