Qualitative Research On Real Experience After Hospital Violence In Nurses:A Meta-Synthesis

Objective:To systematically evaluate the qualitative research related to nurses’ experience after workplace violence from patients and or their relatives,to comprehensively know about nurses’ real physical and mental experience and deeply understand inner feelings after suffering workplace violence.Provide evidence-based basis for formulating response process of injure after suffering violence,management and prevention guidelines and relevant policies.So as to further expand nursing practice,reduce the occurrence of violence in the hospital.Methods:In this study,Chinese databases were searched including CNKI,Wan Fang,VIP,Sino Med,foreign databases including Pub Med,CINAHAL,Embase,Web of Science,Cochrane Library were searched.To search the qualitative studies on the nurses’ real experience after workplace violence.The retrieval time is limit to nearly 10 years from January 2013 till now.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,the included literature was determined.The literature was evaluated according to the quality evaluation criteria of qualitative research of Joanna Briggs Institute(2016 edition)in Australia.and the results were integrated using a collective integration method.The original qualitative research results are repeatedly read,sorted and analyzed based on the stress theory and demand hierarchy theory model,and further summarized according to the meaning of the extracted research results,so as to form a collective conclusion.then evaluate the methodological quality of the included literature evaluation standard of Joanna Briggs Institute in Australian finally.Further and then use the Meta integration method to understand,summarize and explain the research results.Results:A total of 17 qualitative researches were included.After the quality evaluation,79 clear results from qualified studies were integrated into 18 new categories and finally five synthesized results were summarized.Integration results 1: Influencing factors of workplace violence.Integration results 2: Cognition of workplace violence.Integration results 3: Psychological stress after workplace violence.Integration results 4: Needs and support after violence.Integration results 5: Response and prevention of workplace violence.Conclusion:Through the meta integration method,this study deeply understands the real experience of nurses sufferring from hospital type Ⅱ violence.As caregivers of patients in medical settings,nurses frequently.Suffer from violence from patients and or family menbers,which not only caused physical and psychological harm to nurses,but also affected nurses’ private life,family and social relations.Therefore,more attention should be paid to the psychological reconstruction of injured nurses,nurses have two levels of differentiation in psychological stress.It is suggested that nurses should be guided dealing with negative experience actively and effectively,causes of workplace are expected to be taken into account when formulating relevant policies of managing and preventing violence and managing the damage to nurse of violence in combination with the need of nurses.Failure to resolve it properly,it will inevitably form a cycle of evil deeds.This study hopes to reduce the occurrence of workplace violence,and allow nurses to serve the clinic better and more at ease.
