Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Chai Pu Angelica Sinensis Cough formula combined with montelukast sodium in the treatment of post-infectious cough.Methods:Seventy-two patients with post-infectious cough who met the inclusion criteria between January 2022 and April 2022 were collected from the infectious department and the respiratory department,Wangjing Hospital,China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.A simple randomized controlled grouping method was used to divide the enrolled patients into 36 cases in the treatment group and 36 cases in the control group. The treatment group was treated with montelukast sodium tablets and Chai Pu Angelica Sinensis Cough formula;the control group was treated with oral compound methoxyphenamine and montelukast sodium tablets. The cough symptom scores,TCM syndrome scores,Leicester Cough Questionnaire(LCQ),cough visual analog scores and safety indicators were observed before and after the first and second week of treatment in both groups. After the above data were collected,SPSS26.0 statistical software was used to analyze the validity and differences between the two groups.Results:1.Clinical efficacy analysis:after one week of treatment in both groups, the treatment group was significantly better than the control group in terms of improvement in healing rate and total effective rate;after two weeks of treatment in both groups, the healing rate in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, but there was no statistical significance between the two groups in terms of total effective rate, indicating that both the treatment group and the control group were effective, and the treatment group was better than the control group in improving the healing rate.2.Analysis of cough symptom scores:After two weeks of treatment in both groups, the cough symptom scores decreased, and the decrease was more obvious in the treatment group than in the control group, indicating that both the treatment and control groups were effective, and the treatment group was better than the control group in improving the cough symptom scores.3.Analysis of the TCM evidence points:After two weeks of treatment in both groups, the TCM evidence points decreased, and the decrease was more obvious in the treatment group than in the control group, indicating that both the treatment group and the control group were effective, and the treatment group was better than the control group in improving the TCM evidence points.4.Visual analogue score(VAS)analysis of cough:after two weeks of treatment in both groups, the visual analogue score of cough decreased, and the decrease was more obvious in the treatment group than in the control group, indicating that both the treatment and control groups were effective, and the treatment group was better than the control group in improving the visual analogue score of cough.5.Leicester cough questionnaire analysis:After two weeks of treatment in both groups,LCQ scores increased, and the increase was more pronounced in the treatment group than in the control group, indicating that both the treatment and control groups were effective, and the treatment group was better than the control group in improving the Leicester cough LCQ questionnaire scores. Conclusion:Chai Pu Angelica Sinensis Cough formula combined with Montelukast Sodium was effective in treating post-infectious cough, significantly reducing cough symptom score,TCM syndrome score, cough visual analogue score and improving Leicester Cough Questionnaire(LCQ)score, providing faster relief of cough symptoms and improving patients’ quality of life compared with the control group, and with high safety. It deserves recognition and further study.
