Clinical Study Of Chinese Medicine Combined With Acupoint Catgut Embedding In The Treatment Of Obese Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of TCM for tonifying kidney and clearing liver,expelling phlegm and removing blood stasis combined with acupoint catenary in the treatment of obese polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS),and to explore its therapeutic mechanism.Methods:The collected cases conforming to obesity PCOS were randomly divided into three groups.The acupuncture and drug group was given traditional Chinese medicine(invigorating kidney and clearing liver,expelling phlegm and removing blood stasis)combined with acupoint catgut treatment.The metformin group was treated with metformin hydrochloride tablets;Acupoint embedding group was treated with acupoint embedding.The treatment period of the three groups was 6 months.Menstrual cycle,TCM syndrome score,body mass index(BMI),waist to hip ratio(WHR),serum luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),testosterone(T),LH/FSH,fasting insulin(FINS),fasting blood glucose(FPG),blood lipid indexes such as triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC)before and after treatment in each group were observed),low density lipoprotein(LDL),liver and kidney function indicators such as alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),creatinine(CR),urea nitrogen(BUN)and blood routine.Finally,SPSS25.0 statistical software was used to analyze the test results,explore the therapeutic mechanism and analyze the pathological mechanism.Results:(1)Comparison of TCM syndrome scores of the three groups before and after treatment:TCM syndrome scores of the three groups after treatment were all lower than those before treatment;TCM syndrome scores of the acupuncture and drug group after treatment were significantly lower than those of the embedding group and metformin hydrochloride group;there was no significant difference between the embedding group and metformin hydrochloride group.(2)Comparison of menstrual cycles before and after treatment among the three groups:the menstrual cycles of the three groups after treatment were shorter than those before treatment,and the menstrual cycles of the acupuncture group after treatment were significantly lower than those of the embedded wire group and metformin hydrochloride group.(3)Comparison of obesity indexes of the three groups before and after treatment:BMI and WHR of the three groups after treatment were significantly lower than that of the three groups before treatment,and WHR of the acupuncture group after treatment was lower than that of the embedding group and metformin hydrochloride group.(4)Comparison of LH,FSH,LH/FSH and T levels before and after treatment among the three groups:Sex hormone indexes of the three groups were improved after treatment compared with that before treatment,and T value of the acupuncture group was significantly lower than that of the embedding group and metformin hydrochloride group.(5)Comparison of glucose metabolism indexes before and after treatment among the three groups:FPG and FINS levels were significantly lower than those before treatment,and there was no significant difference between the three groups after treatment,indicating that the three groups had similar efficacy in improving glucose metabolism.(6)Comparison of lipid-related indexes of the three groups before and after treatment:after treatment,lipid indexes such as total cholesterol(TC)and low-density lipoprotein(LDL)were improved compared with that before treatment,and there was no significant difference between the three groups after treatment,indicating that the three groups had similar efficacy in improving lipid metabolism.(7)Comparison of the total effective rate of the three groups of TCM syndromes:93.33%in the acupuncture and drug group was significantly higher than 73.33%in the embedding group and 80.00%in the metformin hydrochloride group,indicating that TCM combined with acupoint embedding can achieve good clinical efficacy in the treatment of PCOS.Conclusions:Bushen Qinggan Qutan HuayuFang combined with acupoint catenary therapy,acupoint catenary therapy and metformin hydrochloride tablets for the treatment of obese PCOS can effectively improve the menstrual cycle,TCM syndromes,weight loss,regulation of sex hormones and improvement of glucose and lipid metabolism.In addition,the efficacy of acupoint catgut implantation is significantly better than that of simple acupoint catgut implantation or oral metformin hydrochloride tablets in improving patients’ menstrual cycle,TCM syndrome score and reducing serum androgen level,and the side effects of Chinese medicine combined with acupoint catgut implantation are small.Therefore,it can be used as a safe and effective treatment for polycystic ovary syndrome according to patients’ conditions.
