| Status and correlation of health-promoting behavior and symptom burden in patients undergoing endocrine therapy forbreast cancerObjective(1)To understand the level of health-promoting behavior and symptom burden in breast cancer endocrine therapy patients;(2)To explore the correlation between health-promoting behavior and symptom burden in patients undergoing endocrine therapy for breast cancer;(3)To analyze the factors influencing the symptom burden in patients undergoing breast cancer endocrine therapy.MethodIn this study, the convenience sampling method selected 193 breast cancer patients receiving endocrine therapy in a tertiary hospital in Dalian for a questionnaire survey from October 2021 to October 2022.The survey instruments included the general information questionnaire,Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale and Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile II.Issue by the researcher on site, collected on the spot, eliminate invalid questionnaires, and conduct strict quality control.Data were entered into the Excel database by two pairs and statistically analyzed using SPSS 25.0.Using statistical methods including descriptive statistics, nonparametric tests,Spearman correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis.Result1.The symptom burden score of patients on endocrine therapy for breast cancer was 0.28(0.12,0.52).The physiological symptoms were 0.19(0.08,0.49),the psychological symptoms were 0.33(0.00,0.83),and the total distress index was 0.27(0.10,0.80).The top ten symptoms in patients with endocrine therapy for breast cancer include sweating, difficulty falling asleep, pain, tingling of the hands / feet, insufficient energy, dry mouth, feeling irritable, feeling sad, swelling of the hands or feet, and worry.2.The health-promoting behavior score of breast cancer endocrine therapy patients was at a good level(135.18±21.85).Among them,self-realization dimension score(26.99±5.67),nutrition dimension score(26.68±4.45),stress response dimension score(21.93±4.68),interpersonal relationship dimension score(21.38±4.92),health responsibility dimension score(20.61±5.67),and exercise score(17.58±4.88).There were 2 patients at the "poor" level, accounting for 1%,90 patients at the "general" level, accounting for 47%,84 patients at the "good" level, accounting for 43%,and 17 patients at the "excellent" level, accounting for 9%.3.The total score of health-promoting behavior and the dimensions of exercise, stress response and self-realization in breast cancer endocrine therapy patients showed a significant negative correlation with the total symptom burden score and all subscales,respectively(r=-0.395 ~-0.144,P<0.001).4.The results of univariate analysis showed statistically significant differences in symptom burden among patients with different marital status, disease stage, medication duration, and endocrine drug type(P<0.05).Medication duration(r=-2.049,P<0.001),disease stage(r=4.902,P<0.001)and health-promoting behavioral stress coping dimensions(r=-4.064,P<0.001)were the main influencing factors of symptom burden in patients undergoing endocrine therapy for breast cancer, together explaining 30.1% of the variability.Conclusion1.Patients on endocrine therapy for breast cancer have symptom burden, and psychological symptom burden is heavy compared with physiological symptoms.2.The health-promoting behavioral of breast cancer endocrine therapy patients was at a good level, with the highest self-realization dimension and the lowest exercise dimension.3.There is a significant negative correlation between health-promoting behavioral and symptom burden in breast cancer endocrine therapy patients, and medication time, disease stage and stress response dimension are the influencing factors of symptom burden in breast cancer endocrine therapy patients. |
