| Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of Tongluo Anshen acupuncture combined with bloodletting and cupping therapy for primary trigeminal neuralgia(Qi stagnation and blood stasis type),and provide an effective treatment approach for this disease.Method:60 patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia(Qi stagnation and blood stasis type)who visited the acupuncture department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine between January 2022 and December 2022 were selected. After obtaining consent, patients were randomly assigned into observation and control groups using a lottery method. Each group had 30 patients, but 2 patients dropped out from each group, leaving a total of 56 patients, with 28 patients in each group. The observation group received Tongluo Anshen acupuncture combined with bloodletting and cupping therapy, with 90 minutes of needle retention. The control group received conventional acupuncture(acupoints selected based on the 4th edition of "Acupuncture and Moxibustion" for facial pain),with 30 minutes of needle retention. Both groups received one acupuncture treatment per day for 6 consecutive days, followed by a one-day break. One week was considered one course of treatment, and four courses were administered consecutively. After four weeks, the overall impression change score,Brief Pain Inventory score,Hamilton Anxiety Scale score,Hamilton Depression Scale score,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score, and Traditional Chinese Medicine Symptom Score were observed and evaluated before and after treatment. The main analysis focused on comparing the Traditional Chinese Medicine Symptom Score efficacy between the two groups and evaluating clinical efficacy.Data were collected and statistically analyzed.Result:1.Before treatment, the distribution of gender, age, and duration of illness between the two groups was statistically compared, and there was no significant difference, indicating comparability. After 4 weeks of treatment, the following findings were observed:2.Comparison of Chinese medicine symptom scores:the experimental group showed a more significant decrease in scores;3.Comparison of SF-MPQ scores:there was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),indicating comparability;after treatment, there was a significant difference(P<0.05).VAS,PPI,and PRI scores showed no significant difference before treatment(P>0.05),indicating comparability;after treatment, there was a significant difference(P<0.05);4.Comparison of PGIC scores:there was no significant difference in selfassessment of disease severity between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),indicating comparability;after treatment, there was a significant difference(P<0.05);5.Comparison of HAMA,HAMD,and PSQI scores:there was no significant difference between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),indicating comparability;after treatment, there was a significant difference(P<0.05);6.Chinese medicine symptom efficacy evaluation:the total effective rate of the experimental group was 85.71%,which was better than the control group’s 64.29%(P<0.05);7.Clinical efficacy analysis:the total effective rate of the experimental group was 85.71%,which was better than the control group’s 67.86%;□□8.Adverse reactions:no significant adverse reactions were observed in either the experimental or control group after treatment.□Conclusion:1.The combination of Tongluo Anshen acupuncture and blood-letting cupping can significantly reduce the pain intensity of patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia(Qi stagnation and blood stasis type),improve their mental and emotional state, and regulate their accompanying TCM symptoms;2.The use of Tongluo Anshen acupuncture and blood-letting cupping for the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia(Qi stagnation and blood stasis type)is significantly more effective than conventional acupuncture treatment. |
