Objective:Analysis and comparison of the safety and effectiveness of,traditional thoracotomy, thoracoscopic surgery, and modified axillary small incision surgery in the treatment of pediatric pulmonary cystic echinococcosis. Methods:A total of 104 children with pulmonary cystic echinococcosis admitted to our hospital from April 2010 to October 2021 were selected and divided into traditional thoracotomy group(group A,n=34),thoracoscopic group(group B,n=35),and modified small axillary incision group(group C,n=35),according to operation methods.Operation time, intraoperative blood loss and other intraoperative conditions, postoperative thoracic tube placement time, surgical cost, hospital stay, echinococcosis diameter, postoperative residual cavity complications,FLACC pain score and incision satisfaction were observed in the three groups. Results:In this study, there were no deaths in 104 children during perioperative period. There were statistically significant differences in operation time, intraoperative blood loss, thoracic tube placement time, surgical cost, hospital stay, postoperative residual complications rate,FLACC pain score and incision satisfaction among the three groups(P < 0.05).The operation time, operation cost, hospital stay and postoperative residual complications in the modified small incision group were all lower than those in the thoracoscopic group and the traditional thoracotomy group(P < 0.05).The amount of intraoperative blood loss, postoperative catheter placement time,FLACC pain score and incision satisfaction in the modified small incision group and the thoracoscopic group were all better than those in the traditional thoracotomy group(P < 0.05).Conclusion:Under the premise of strict control of surgical indications, modified small incision surgery can be used as the first choice for the treatment of pulmonary cystic echinococcosis in children, followed by thoracoscopic surgery, and traditional thoracoscopic surgery should be selected for the treatment of children with modified small incision and thoracoscopic surgery difficulties.
