Evaluation Of The Efficacy Of Botulinum Toxin A Combined With Triamcinolone Acetonide In The Treatment Of Masseter Muscle Hypertrophy And Facial Improvement

Objective: To study the clinical efficacy of botulinum toxin A combined with triamcinolone acetonide injection in the treatment of masseter hypertrophy and evaluate the effectiveness of facial improvement.Methods: A total of 40 patients,all female,aged 21 to 40 years,were screened according to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,including patients seeking treatment for mas seter muscle hypertrophy in Guangzhou Weiyu Medical Aesthetic Clinic from October 2021～October 2022.All patients have informed consent to each procedure in this study.Divisi on: Randomly divide 40 patients into four equal groups,with 10 people in each group.Pho tographs were taken before and three months after surgery to observe the subsequent treat ment effect.Taking photos requires clear facial features,contours,and obvious maxillofaci al features.Drugs used in different groups:(1)Group A: 25 U botulinum toxin type A/side;(2)Group B: 25 U botulinum toxin type A + 10 mg triamcinolone acetonide/side;(3)Gro up C: 50 U botulinum toxin type A/side;(4)Group D: 50 U botulinum toxin type A + 10 mg triamcinolone acetonide/side.Injection: Inject an equal dose of medication into the left and right masseter muscles of each patient,or distribute the medication according to the si ze of the masseter muscles on both sides,with a total dose of a certain amount.The width o f the middle and lower faces of patients was measured before treatment and 3 months after treatment,and the difference in width before and after treatment was analyzed and compar ed.The patient’s satisfaction with facial improvement,the duration of efficacy maintenance and the observation of adverse reactions were investigated at follow-up,and the above ind icators were statistically analyzed.Results: There was no significant difference in the width of the middle and lower parts among the four groups of patients before treatment(P>0.05).Compared with before treatment,there was no significant difference in mid facial width among the four groups of patients after treatment(P>0.05),while the width of the lower part decreased.There was a statistical difference in group D before and after treatment(P<0.05).Group A showed the smallest reduction before and after treatment,with a statistically significant difference compared to Group B;The width of the lower part of group D decreased the most significantly,and the difference in reduction between this group and group C was significant(P<0.05).Conclusion: The combination of type A botulinum toxin and triamcinolone acetonide has a definite therapeutic effect on masseter hypertrophy with minimal adverse reactions.In this study,combination therapy was more effective than single therapy,and larger doses of combination therapy had the best effect,with the greatest improvement in facial morphology,more lasting efficacy,and highest patient satisfaction.It can be explained that the combination of the above two drugs provides a reliable and relatively safe option for reducing the width of the lower part.
