Purpose:By observing the distribution characteristics of TCM syndrome types and related risk factors of hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)combined with thyroid nodules(TN),this study provides some reference for further understanding the syndrome differentiation and prevention of T2 DM combined with thyroid nodules.Method:Select 175 patients with T2 DM who visited the Endocrinology Department of Fuzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2022 to February 2023 including 148 T2 DM patients combined with thyroid nodules and 27 T2 DM patients without thyroid nodules.Collect their general information, blood analysis indicators, thyroid B-ultrasound data, and TCM syndrome types, establish an Excel database, and use SPSS 25.0 statistical software to analyze and process all research data to obtain research results.Result:1.Comparison of basic data between the two groups: A total of 175 inpatients with T2 DM were included in this study, including 148 patients(84.6%)in the T2 DM combined with TN group and 27 patients(15.4%)in the T2 DM alone group. The number of female patients in the T2 DM combined with TN group was significantly higher than that in the pure T2 DM group, and the age was significantly higher than that in the pure T2 DM group(P<0.01).The duration of diabetes in T2 DM combined with TN group was longer than that in T2 DM alone, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).2.Analysis of risk factors for hospitalized T2 DM with TN: The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that gender and age were independent risk factors for the formation of thyroid nodules in hospitalized T2 DM patients,P<0.01.3.The distribution characteristics of TCM syndrome types in hospitalized T2 DM patients with TN: 44 cases(29.7%)of qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome>40 cases(27.0%)of dampness and heat entrapment spleen syndrome>36 cases(24.3%)of qi and yin deficiency syndrome>18 cases(12.2%)of qi stagnation and heat transformation syndrome>10 cases(6.8%)of yin and yang deficiency syndrome.Conclusion:1.Among hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes, female sex, older age and longer course of disease are more likely to have thyroid nodules.2.Female sex and older age are independent risk factors of type 2 diabetes with thyroid nodules in hospitalized patients.3.Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome is the most common TCM syndrome type of hospitalized type 2 diabetes patients with thyroid nodules, followed by dampness and heat entrapment spleen syndrome, and then qi and yin deficiency syndrome.
