ObjectiveThis report aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Professor He Ping’s treatment method for purpura nephritis in children with spleen and kidney qi deficiency and wind type. The study will observe the treatment’s curative effects for reinforcing the kidney and the spleen and assess its advantages. The report will also evaluate the value of this treatment method in expanding traditional Chinese medicine’s approach to treating purpura nephritis with a focus on spleen and kidney qi deficiency and wind type.MethodFrom November2021 to November 2022 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,68 kids with purpura nephritis(spleen and kidney qi deficit and wind type)who matched the inclusion criteria were chosen.Oral administration of the instructor’s self-prescription called Fengxue Ertian Decoction granules,4 weeks as a course of treatment,a total of 3 courses of treatment, recorded the 24 h urine protein quantification, urine trace albumin, urine protein creatinine ratio, urine routine,TCM syndrome scores, and recorded the liver and kidney function before and after treatment in terms of safety,in order to formulate the efficacy and safety results of the prescription under the guidance of this treatment, preliminarily evaluate the application value of this treatment, and follow up once 3 months after the end of the observation period.Result1.A total of 68 children with purpuric nephritis(spleen and kidney qi deficiency with wind)who met the criteria were included in the subject.During the test,5 cases of CPC fell off,3 cases were excluded, and 60 cases were actually observed, including 33 male children and 7 female children.2.Evaluation of disease efficacy: The total effective rates after 1 course, courses and 3courses of treatment were 76.7%,86.7% and 91.7%,respectively.3.Assessment of the effectiveness of TCM syndromes: The overall effective rates following one course, two courses, and three courses of therapy were,respectively,68.3%,81.7%,and 91.7%.4.Comparison of laboratory results: After treatment,24 hours urine protein quantification, urine microalbumin, urine protein creatinine ratio, urine protein, urine occult blood, red blood cells in urine routine and before therapy were all decreased, and statistically significant changes were seen between the different laboratory markers before and after treatment.(P <0.01).5.Syndrome score: After treatment, the total score of TCM syndromes and the scores of various main syndromes(skin purpura, mental fatigue, and shaohua complexion)were significantly lower than before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.01);after treatment, the scores of TCM sub-syndromes anorexia, sore throat, sore waist and knees, reduced urination, and loose stool were statistically significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05),however the improvement of the symptom score of reduced urination after treatment was not statistically significant(P >0.05).6.Safety: The safety evaluation indexes of the observed cases were normal before and after treatment, and no adverse reactions were found.7.Follow-up outcomes: 3 months after the conclusion of therapy,4 children had mild recurrence of skin purpura due to acute upper sensation, and the remaining children had stable condition without recurrence.ConclusionThe treatment of wind and blood culture for reinforcing the kidney and the spleen method has a good clinical effect on the improvement of symptoms and urinary protein in children with purpura nephritis(spleen-kidney qi deficiency with Fufeng type),and no adverse drug reactions occurred during treatment.
