Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Jianpi Tiaoying Tang in the treatment of anorexia nervosa in children with cold deficiency in the spleen and stomach,to preliminarily evaluate the safety of the clinical use of this formula,to enrich Chinese medical ideas and methods in the treatment of anorexia nervosa in children and to lay the foundation for further research on this formula. Methods: This study was conducted using a randomised controlled trial design.Seventy-two children were enrolled according to nadir criteria and were divided into 36 cases in the treatment group and 36 cases in the control group. The 36 children in the treatment group received oral treatment with Jianpi Tiaoying Tang plus reduction, while the control group received oral treatment with Qipi Wan for 4 weeks. Results: A total of 72 cases were collected in this study and 61 cases were actually completed.3 cases were excluded from the control group and 2 cases were excluded from the control group and 31 cases were actually completed;4 cases were excluded from the control group and 2 cases were excluded from the control group and 30 cases were actually completed, the specific results are as follows.1.Disease efficacy evaluation: After 4 weeks of treatment, the overall efficacy rate of treatment group and control group was 96.77% and 93.33%,respectively,by statistical analysis, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05),and the disease efficacy of treatment group Jianpi Tiaoying Tang was better than that of control group Qipi Wan.2.Chinese medicine symptom efficacy evaluation: After 4 weeks of treatment, the overall efficacy rate of the treatment group and the control group was 93.55% and 90.00%,respectively,and the difference was statistically significant by statistical analysis(P<0.05).3.Comparison of evidence scores: The total, primary and secondary evidence scores of Chinese medicine symptoms after treatment with Jianpi Tiaoying Tang for anorexia in children with coldness in the spleen and stomach were lower than before treatment, and this difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).4.The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05),which indicated that the treatment group improved appetite loss better than the control group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),which indicated that there was no significant difference between the two groups in improving appetite loss.5.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05),indicating that the treatment group was more effective than the control group in improving symptoms of hypochondria, bloating, abdominal pain and sweating. The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05),indicating that the treatment group was as effective as the control group in improving body defecation, lack of warmth in the extremities and soft and loose stools.6 After treatment, there was no statistically significant difference between haemoglobin values in the two groups compared with pre-treatment values(P>0.05),indicating that haemoglobin levels in the two groups did not change significantly before and after treatment.7.Safety assessment: In this study,no side effects were observed in children in the treatment group before and after treatment.Conclusion.1.Jianpi Tiaoying Tang is an effective formula for the treatment of anorexia in children with coldness in the spleen and abdomen. It can effectively increase appetite and food intake in children and improve clinical accompanying symptoms such as pale complexion, emaciation, lack of warmth in the limbs, soft and loose stools, bloating and fullness, abdominal pain and sweating, etc. It is worth applying and encouraging.2.The clinical observation of Jianpi Tiaoying Tang did not reveal any adverse effects that are safe for clinical use.
