Objective:This study investigated the health status and care needs of older people in the community of Songwon,covering three main areas: demographic and sociological information,health status and demand for long-term care services.In order to accurately and comprehensively reflect the health status of the participants,the Activity of Daily Living Scale(ADL)and the Kessler10 scale were used to survey the elderly.On this basis,the survey was conducted to understand the demand for long-term care services for the elderly,analyse the factors affecting the demand for long-term care services for the elderly,propose targeted measures to ensure the quality of life of the elderly,actively respond to the problem of ageing,and provide a basis for the improvement of the long-term care insurance system in the region and its popularisation in the country.Methods:The study population was older people aged 60 years and above in the community of Songwon.Questionnaires were administered to all eligible older people in the target communities according to strict inclusion and exclusion criteria.The main content included three aspects: socio-demographic information,health status and demand for long-term care services,including 10 items on socio-demographic characteristics,26 items on health status and 8 items on demand for long-term care services,making a total of 44 items.The database was created using Epidata 3.1 software and statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS 20.0.Count data were expressed as frequencies and percentages(%).One-way analysis was conducted using the χ2 test,and variables with statistically significant differences in the one-way analysis were included in the logistic regression analysis to screen for factors influencing the long-term care needs of older people,with a statistically significant difference of P<0.05.Results: In this study,470 eligible elderly people in the community of Songwon were included in the survey,and 463 questionnaires were effectively recovered,including 215males(46.44%)and 248 females(53.36%).the ADL scale and K10 scale had good reliability and validity.(1)In the health status,from the health self-assessment,the highest percentage of elderly people with average self-assessment was 27.21%;from the number of chronic diseases,the largest percentage of elderly people with 2 kinds was 32.4%.According to the results of the ADL scale study,the largest percentage of elderly people with functional impairment was 50.1%.According to the results of the K10 scale study,the largest proportion of elderly people with poor mental health was 36.9%.(2)In the current situation of the demand for long-term care services,54.64% of the elderly have the demand for long-term care services.However,the overall level of understanding is low.Only12.31% were "very well informed".(3)In the univariate analysis of demographic and sociological characteristics,health status and demand for long-term care services,the factors that were statistically significant in the chi-square test were: occupation,residence status,number of children,average monthly income,health insurance mode,health self-assessment,ability to perform daily activities,and mental health.In the logistic regression analysis,the factors influencing long-term care needs were residence status,ability to perform daily activities,and mental health status.Conclusion:(1)Compared with other research results,the overall level of long-term care needs of the elderly in Songyuan is low.(2)Among the health conditions of the elderly,the number of chronic diseases is more;In the state of daily living ability,more elderly people with dysfunction;The overall mental health of older people is poor.(3)The factors affecting the long-term care needs of the elderly include living conditions,daily activity ability and mental health.(4)The government should popularize the knowledge of long-term care insurance and pay attention to special elderly groups;Guide the elderly to change their ideas and correct their wrong cognition;Expand the scope of security and enrich the content of services;Strengthen quality management and strengthen supervision;Perfect service team and improve service quality.
