Objective: To investigate and analyze the risk factors and TCM constitution of young and middle-aged patients with chronic insomnia,to find out the distribution statistics of the two,to analyze their patterns,to understand the basic situation of risk factors and TCM constitution of young and middle-aged patients with chronic insomnia,to explore the correlation between them, and to seek new ideas and methods to explore the development, diagnosis and treatment, prognosis and prevention of young and middle-aged patients with chronic insomnia from the perspective of TCM constitution.METHODS: We collected 300 cases of chronic insomnia in young and middle-aged patients who attended the outpatient clinic of the Department of Encephalopathy of the Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2021 to July 2022,and used a combination of questionnaires, body mass classification and judgment scale scores to collect the results of patients’ general conditions, risk factors and body mass determination, and entered the qualified questionnaires into an Excel sheet after verification, and established the original database. The qualified questionnaires were verified and entered into an Excel sheet, and the original database was established.SPSS 26.0 software was applied for statistical analysis to explore the morbidity characteristics,TCM physical distribution pattern and risk factors of young and middle-aged patients with chronic insomnia.Results.1.A total of 300 cases of chronic insomnia in young and middle-aged patients were collected, among which 98 cases were male and 202 cases were female, with a male to female ratio of 1:2.06.The youngest age was 18 years old and the oldest was 59 years old, with an average age of 43.80±10.74 years.2.The distribution of the nine types of physical constitution in 300 young and middle-aged patients with chronic insomnia was as follows: qi-yu > qi-vacant > phlegm-damp >yang-vacant > yin-vacant > damp-heat > blood-stasis > special endowment > ping-he.Among them,qi-yu,qi-vacant and phlegm-damp constituted the largest proportion, accounting for 64.33% of the total.3.The chi-square test revealed that gender,BMI,past history, dietary habits, exercise habits, temperament, and presence of work/study stress were statistically significant(P <0.05)with the distribution of TCM body type in young and middle-aged patients with chronic insomnia.4.Binary logistic regression analysis revealed that impatience and irritability(OR=3.115,95CI:1.199-8.092,P =0.02)and work/study stress(OR=3.115,95CI:1.397-8.895,P =0.008,)were the risk factors for young and middle-aged chronic insomnia patients with qi-depression;regular exercise(OR= 0.097,95CI:0.02-0.474,P =0.004)was a protective factor for young and middle-aged patients with chronic insomnia and qi deficiency;male(OR=2.305,95CI:1.16-4.584,P =0.017),overweight(OR=2.549,95CI:1.133-5.732,P=0.024),greasy diet(OR =2.721,95CI:1.266-5.85,P =0.01)as risk factors in young and middle-aged patients with chronic insomnia and phlegm.Conclusion.1.the TCM constitution types of young and middle-aged chronic insomnia patients were dominated by qi-yu,qi-vacant and phlegm-damp constitutions.2.there were significant differences in the TCM constitution types of young and middle-aged chronic insomnia patients with different genders, different BMI,different dietary habits, different exercise habits, different temperaments, and with or without work/study stress.3.For middle-aged and young chronic insomnia patients, impatience and irritability and work/study stress were the main risk factors for qi-yu quality;regular exercise was the protective factor for qi-vacant quality;male, overweight, and greasy diet were the main risk factors for phlegm-damp quality.
