Objective: Through clinical observation,proving the clinical efficacy and safety of acupoint application combined with the Chaihu Shugan Powder plus or minus in the treatment of functional constipation(the stagnation of Liver-Qi syndrome)in middle-aged women.Methods: The cases were from 45-59 year-old female outpatients who met the diagnostic criteria of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine for functional constipation due to the stagnation of Liver-Qi syndrome from December 2021 to December2022 in the Department of Analogy and Intestine,Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Randomized control method was used to randomly divide the patients into control group(36 cases),and take Chaihu Shugan powder plus or minus traditional Chinese medicine granules orally,one bag in the morning and one bag in the evening.36 patients in the treatment group were treated with acupoint application(self made)once every 3 days(Day 2 and Day 5),for 4-6 hours each time,combined with Chaihu Shugan powder plus or minus traditional Chinese medicine granules for oral use,one bag in the morning and one bag in the evening.All patients were treated with one week as a course of treatment,and were continuously observed for four courses of treatment,and were followed up one month after the end of treatment.Observe and record the symptom score and recurrence of the patients before and after treatment,and analyze the data through SPSS.25.0 software to evaluate the clinical treatment effect of acupoint application combined with Chaihu Shugan powder in the treatment of functional constipation(the stagnation of Liver-Qi syndrome)in middle-aged women.Results: 1.Comparison of curative effects: in the control group,32 cases were actually observed,22 cases were effective,10 cases were invalid,and the overall effective rate was68.75%;In the treatment group,34 cases were observed,30 cases were effective,and 4cases were invalid.The overall effective ratio was 88.24%.The effectiion of the treatment group is significantly higher than the control one.(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance on the overall effective ratio.(P>0.05).2.Comparison between treatment groups: the score of single symptom: defecation difficulty,defecation states,defecation time,discomforting evacuation,defecation frequen cy,abdominal distension,borborigmus,fullness and discomfort in the chest and hypocho ndrium,belching,irritability were lower after treatment than before treatment(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance on the score of depression syndrome before and after treatment(P>0.05).The total syndrome score of traditional Chinese medici ne: after treatment,it was significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05).3.Comparison between the control groups: the score of single symptom: defecation difficulty,defecation frequency,defecation time,discomforting evacuation,abdominal distension,borborigmus,fullness and discomfort in the chest and hypochondrium,irritability after treatment was markedly lower than that before treatment(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance on the score of defecation states,belching and depression symptom before and after treatment(P>0.05).The total syndrome score of traditional Chinese medicine was obviously lower after treatment than before treatment(P>0.05).4.Comparison between the treatment group and the control group:in single symptom:the treatment group surpass the control one in improving defecation difficulty,defecation states,abdominal distension,belching and depression(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the score of defecation time,defecation frequency,discomforting evacuation,borborigmus,fullness and discomfort in the chest and hypochondrium,irritability(P>0.05).Total score of TCM symptoms: the treatment group significantly surpass the control group in improving TCM symptoms(P<0.01).5.Comparison of recurrence rate: in the treatment group,30 cases were followed up,4cases were recurrent,and the recurrence ratio was 13.33%;In the control group,22 patients were followed up,9 patients had recurrence,and the recurrence rate was 40.91%.The recurrence rate of the treatment group was obviously lower than the control one(P<0.05).Conclusion: Both acupoint application combined with Chaihu Shugan powder plus or minus and single use of Chaihu Shugan powder plus or minus can effectively improve the clinical symptoms of middle-aged women with functional constipation(the stagnation of Liver-Qi syndrome),and acupoint application combined with Chaihu Shugan powder plus or minus has better clinical efficacy,lower recurrence rate,no adverse reactions in the treatment process,good safety,and is worthy of wide clinical application and promotion.
