Objective: To retrospectively analyze the treatment plan and clinical efficacy of the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)clinical pathway for green blindness guided by TCM theory, explore the advantages and shortcomings of the treatment of green blindness under the guidance of TCM clinical pathway, and provide a theoretical basis for further promoting the application and optimization of the treatment characteristics of green blindness under the guidance of TCM clinical pathway. Methods: The medical records of 209 patients(316 eyes)with green blindness who were admitted to our hospital from January 2015 to January 2019 and met the inclusion criteria were retrospectively studied, and the patients with green blindness who were included in the TCM clinical pathway management were set as the pathway group, and the remaining patients who did not enter the pathway group were the control group(120 cases in the pathway group and 89 cases in the control group). The general data on both groups of cases(gender, age, cause of disease, course of disease),and case data such as hospitalization days, hospitalization cost, clinical efficacy(visual acuity, visual field,TCM symptoms)were comprehensively collected, and the SPSS25.0 statistical software package was applied to create a database and conduct statistical analysis. Results: 1.In the pathway group, the shortest hospital stay was 12 days and the longest stay was 35 days, with mean hospital stay of 21.16 ± 4.79 days. Then in terms of the control group, the shortest length of stay was 8 days and the longest length of stay was 45 days, with mean length of stay of 25.51±7.40 days. The average length of hospital stay for patients in the pathway group was significantly lower than the average length of hospital stay for patients in the control group, which was statistically significant according to the statistical results(P<0.05).2.The average hospitalization cost in the pathway group was 11933.05±2133.52 yuan, and the average hospitalization cost in the control group was 13704.37±4418.40 yuan. The average hospitalization cost in the pathway group was significantly lower compared with that in the control group, and there was a disparity in the two groups in terms of hospitalization cost(P<0.05),which was statistically significant.3.Clinical efficacy: Before treatment, the 3 aspects of visual acuity, visual field(MS and MD values)and TCM symptom score were compared between the two groups, and the results showed that P>0.05,there was no statistical difference. Before and after treatment in both groups, changes in visual acuity, visual field, and TCM symptom score were statistically analyzed, and P<0.05,there was statistically significant;visual acuity, after treatment in both groups, the improvement of visual acuity in the control group was lower than that in the pathway group, but the difference was not significant, and P=0.234(P>0.05)according to the statistical test, and there was no statistical difference in the comparison of visual acuity between the two groups after treatment, indicating that the advantage of patients treated for green blindness under the guidance of the TCM clinical pathway compared with patients treated for green blindness without the guidance of the TCM clinical pathway was not yet significant;visual field, after treatment in both groups, the improvement of visual field in the control group was lower than that in the pathway group, including mean sensitivity(MS)and mean defect(MD),which was analyzed,P<0.05,there was statistically different, indicating patients with green blindness treated under the TCM clinical pathway showed better visual field improvement than patients with green blindness not treated under the TCM clinical pathway;the score of TCM symptom, after treatment in both groups, the control group was lower than the pathway group, which was analyzed,P<0.05,there was statistically different, indicating that patients with green blindness treated under the guidance of TCM clinical pathway were better than patients with green blindness not treated under the guidance of TCM clinical pathway in terms of improving TCM symptoms;the total effective rate, the total number of eyes in the pathway group was 182,of which 69 eyes were significantly effective,78 eyes were effective, and 35 eyes were ineffective, with an overall effective rate of 80.8%,and 134 eyes in the control group,of which 29 eyes were significantly effective,57 eyes were effective, and 48 eyes were ineffective, with an overall effective rate of 64.2%,which was analyzed,P<0.05,there was statistically different, indicating the patients treated for green blindness under the TCM clinical pathway were better than those who were not treated under the guidance of TCM clinical pathway in terms of improving the total effective rate. Conclusion: The adoption of TCM clinical pathways for patients with green blindness can effectively improve clinical efficacy, shorten the average length of stay, reduce hospitalization costs, standardize medical costs. Then,it also can reduce the overuse of medical resources and increase social recognition of TCM treatment while giving play to the characteristics of TCM treatment. It will not only promote the development of TCM but also provide a solid theoretical basis for the widespread development of TCM clinical pathways in China.
