Objective:This study investigated the current situation of nursing work environment,psychological capital and humanistic practice ability of ICU nurses in 43 hospitals at the second level and above in Ganan;analyzed the differences in nursing work environment,psychological capital and humanistic practice ability of ICU nurses in terms of general demographic characteristics;explored the correlation among nursing work environment,psychological capital and humanistic practice ability of ICU nurses;and explored the pathways of the role of nursing work environment,psychological capital and humanistic practice ability of ICU nurses.Methods:In this study,a convenience sampling method was used to survey 949 ICU nurses in secondary and higher hospitals in Ganan using a combination of online and offline questionnaires from May 24 to September 24,2022,using the General Demographic Questionnaire,Nursing Work Environment Scale,Psychological Capital Scale,and Humanistic Practice Competence Questionnaire.SPSS 26.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis,and descriptive statistics,t-test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis and multiple stepwise regression analysis were used for statistical analysis,and a mediating effect model was constructed using the Process3.4.1 procedure.Results:1.the total score of ICU nurses’ nursing work environment was(110.68±13.78)with a mean entry score of(4.25±0.53);the total score of ICU nurses’ psychological capital was(82.75±10.66)with a mean entry score of(4.14±0.53);the total score of ICU nurses’ humanistic practice ability was(99.38±6.60)with a mean entry score of(3.82±0.65)points.2.There was a statistically significant difference in the scores of ICU nurses’ humanistic practice ability in 10 aspects: age,hospital grade,technical title,job title,education,working years,marital status,number of children,degree of family care,and whether they had participated in humanistic care training(P < 0.05).3.ICU nurses’ nursing work environment was positively correlated with psychological capital(r=0.432,P<0.001);ICU nurses’ psychological capital was positively correlated with humanistic practice ability(r=0.522,P<0.001);nursing work environment was positively correlated with humanistic practice ability(r=0.560,P<0.001).practice competency dimensions were significantly correlated with each other(P < 0.01).4.The regression results showed that after controlling for the effects of confounding factors such as age,technical title,job title,marital status,education,years of work,number of children,and participation in humanistic care training,career development,recognition atmosphere,professional autonomy,basic security,self-efficacy,hope,resilience,and optimism were the main influencing factors of humanistic practice competence,which explained 48.9% of the variance in humanistic practice ability.5.ICU nurses’ psychological capital had a partially mediating role in nursing work environment and humanistic practice ability,and ICU nurses’ nursing work environment could indirectly and positively predict humanistic practice ability through psychological capital,and the total indirect effect of ICU nurses’ psychological capital was 0.128,accounting for about 32.91% of the total effect.Conclusion:1.949 ICU nurses in hospitals at the second level and above in Ganan area had a medium level of perception of nursing work environment,a medium level of psychological capital,and a medium level of humanistic practice ability.2.Among the demographic variables age,hospital level,technical title,job title,education,years of work,marital status,number of children,degree of family care,and whether they had participated in humanistic care training had some influence on humanistic practice ability.3.There was a significant positive correlation between ICU nurses’ humanistic practice ability score,nursing work environment score,psychological capital score.4.Career development,recognition atmosphere,professional autonomy,basic security,self-efficacy,hope,resilience,and optimism are the main influencing factors of ICU nurses’ humanistic practice ability,and managers should focus on developing ICU nurses’ positive heart resources and improving the nursing work environment in order to enhance ICU nurses’ humanistic practice ability.5.There is a partially mediating role of ICU nurses’ psychological capital in the nursing work environment and humanistic practice ability,and this mediating role provides an important basis for the subsequent development of interventions to enhance the humanistic practice of ICU nurses or for conducting other studies. |
