| PurposeThis study intends to compare and observe the differences in children’s gross motor development level and sensory integration ability before and after an 8-week exercise game course and free physical activity intervention for 5-6 years old.Meanwhile, the differences in gross motor development and sensory integration of children of different genders were analyzed. To provide scientific basis for kindergarten educators to carry out children’s physical activity teaching.MethodsThis study was designed as a randomized controlled trial, and a total of 55 children, including 27 boys and 28 girls, were randomly divided into intervention group and control group by class. Before intervention, the relevant indicators were evaluated by Preschool Gross Movement Quality Scale(PGMQS)and children’s Sensory Integration Development Scale, and the pre-test was completed. Then, different exercise modes were used for intervention. The intervention group was led by children’s physical fitness teachers for 8 weeks,3 times a week,45 minutes each time, exercise and game courses and sensory integration training were integrated. The control group performed unorganized free physical activity according to the children’s original exercise habits at the same time. After the intervention, preschool Gross Movement Quality Scale(PGMQS)and children’s Sensory Integration Development Assessment Scale were used for posttest.Independent sample T test was used to compare the physical characteristics between the intervention group and the control group.Paired sample T test was used to compare the difference between the intervention group and the control group.Analysis of covariance was used to compare the differences between the intervention group and the control group after intervention. At the same time, the gender difference of each group was further analyzed.Results1.After 8-week exercise games were integrated into sensory integration training intervention, the movement ability, object transfer ability and balance ability of 5-6years old children in gross movements were significantly improved(p<0.05).2.After 8 weeks of free physical activity, children’s balance ability and sensory integration ability(vestibular function, tactile defense, proprioception)in gross movements were significantly improved(p<0.05).3.Gross motor ability of both boys and girls was significantly improved under different exercise modes; In boys, vestibular function, tactile defense and proprioception were significantly improved(p<0.05),while in girls, vestibular function was significantly improved(p<0.05).Conclusion1.Sports game courses can promote the overall improvement of children’s gross motor ability at the age of 5-6;Free physical activity promoted children’s sensory integration ability.2.There is no gender difference in gross motor development, but there is gender difference in sensory integration. |
