Objective:1.To explore the clinical efficacy of health science education combined with doxycycline in the treatment of moderate and severe acne.2.To evaluate the effects of health popularization education combined with doxycycline on quality of life and mental health status of patients with moderate and severe acne. Methods:A total of 100 cases of moderate to severe acne patients admitted to the dermatology Department of the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from December 2021 to June2022 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was given oral doxycycline100mg/d;the control group was given oral doxycycline 100mg/d combined health science education, and the patients were revisited every two weeks.6 weeks is a course of treatment.Global Acne Grac ding System(GAGS)score,Dermatology Life Quality Index(Dermatology Life Quality Index,)were used before, during and after treatment DLQI score and Cardiff Acne disabilitv index(CADI)score were included in 3 scales, and the data of the two groups of patients were statistically analyzed from three aspects: treatment effect, quality of life and physical and mental health. The experimental data were analyzed and processed by SPSS26.0 software.Results:1.Comparison of baseline data: 48 patients in the combination group, including 34 males and 14 females,aged(14-36)years,mean age(21.9±4.38)years,course of disease(1-120)months,mean course of disease(38.0±30.8)months,34 patients with moderate grade II lesions,10 patients with moderate grade III lesions and 4 patients with severe grade IV lesions;A total of 47 patients in the control group, including 27 males and 20 females,aged(13-35)years,mean age(21.5±5.35)years,course of disease(0.5-132)months,mean course of disease(36.0±29.9)months,31 patients with moderate grade II lesions,9 patients with moderate grade III lesions, and 7 patients with severe grade IV lesions. There were no significant differences in gender, age, course of disease and grading of lesions between the two groups(all P > 0.05),indicating comparability.2.Comparison of curative effect: At 2 weeks,4 weeks and 6 weeks of treatment, the effective rate of the combined group was 54.2%,87.6% and 100%,respectively,which were higher than the effective rate of 31.9%,76.6% and 87.2% of the control group at the same period, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).3.Comparison of acne severity: Before treatment,GAGS scores in combination group and control group were similar, but there was no statistical significance between groups(P >0.05),indicating comparability. After treatment,GAGS score of patients in both groups decreased, and the difference before and after treatment was statistically significant(P <0.05),suggesting that patients in both groups were relieved after treatment. The comparison of GAGS scores between the two groups after treatment showed that the scores of the combined group were lower than those of the control group at the second, fourth and sixth weeks of treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05),suggesting that the efficacy of the combined group was better than that of the control group at the second, fourth and sixth weeks of treatment.4.Comparison of quality of life: Before treatment,DLQI scores of combination group and control group were similar, but there was no statistical significance between groups(P >0.05),indicating comparability. After treatment,DLQI scores in both groups were decreased compared with before(P < 0.05).At the 2nd,4th and 6th week follow-up,the scores of the control group were higher than those of the combined group at the same period, with statistical significance(P < 0.05),indicating that after treatment, the quality of life of patients in both groups had been improved, and the improvement of the combined group was more obvious than that of the control group.5.Comparison of mental health status: Before treatment,CADI scores in combination group and control group were similar, with no statistical significance(P > 0.05),indicating comparability. After treatment,CADI scores in 2 groups were lower than before(P < 0.05);At the 4th and 6th week follow-up,the score of the control group was higher than that of the combination group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05),suggesting that after treatment, the mental health status of patients in both groups had been improved, and the improvement of the combination group was more obvious than the control group.Conclusions:1.Doxycycline is effective in the treatment of moderate and severe acne, which can improve the quality of life and mental health.2.Health science education combined with doxycycline in the treatment of moderate and severe acne has faster effect, better efficacy, better effect on improving quality of life and improving mental health, and can be used as an improved treatment plan for moderate and severe acne, and can be popularized in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of acne.
