As an advanced radiation therapy technology for tumors,proton therapy is an important development direction to increase the local control rate of tumors,improve the long-term quality of life of patients,and enhance the level of cancer treatment.In view of this,China is continuously exploring the construction of proton oncology treatment projects with a view to improving the efficiency of project management.The Shenzhen Proton Cancer Treatment Center Project is a major project in Shenzhen in2019,aiming to realize a building entity integrating oncology medical treatment,scientific research,teaching and medical extension services,and to build an international first-class proton therapy center.Despite its elevated positioning and amalgamation of functions,the project’s schedule management poses a challenge.Consequently,the engineering management problem of guaranteeing the project’s top-notch completion under the stringent schedule demands has become an urgent one to be addressed.Consequently,this paper focuses on the Shenzhen Proton Cancer Treatment Center Project as its research object,exploring the scheduling challenges and potential risks associated with it.It seeks to encapsulate the project’s experience and enhance the Proton Cancer Treatment Project’s schedule management aptitude.Firstly,we analyzed the important and difficult points of schedule management by combining the case of Shenzhen Proton Cancer Treatment Center Project,and summarized 15 important schedule risk factors in Shenzhen Proton Cancer Treatment Center Project through literature collection and expert interviews;secondly,in order to determine the interaction relationship and importance between schedule risk factors,we constructed DEMATEL-ISM model,and divided the schedule risk factors into 5 levels.The DEMATEL-ISM model was constructed to divide the risk factors into five levels,systematically analyze the interrelationships among the levels,and further adopt the MICMAC method to classify the types of schedule risk factors and analyze the degree of influence of each level of risk factors on the project schedule management;finally,the organizational system and planning system of the Shenzhen Proton Cancer Treatment Center Project were deeply explored to further clarify the project schedule management process,and analyze the process of adaptive adjustment based on dynamic perspective.Finally,we provide guidance for the schedule management of proton therapy projects.The main conclusions of this study are:(1)there are technical,management,organizational and institutional difficulties in schedule control for the Shenzhen Proton Cancer Treatment Center Project;(2)identified five levels of schedule risk factors;(3)"design changes and project contingencies","difficulty in setting schedule plan and target","difficulty in configuration and management of material and equipment","difficulty in organizing cross-construction interface" and "insufficient coordination and cooperation among participants" have important influence on other schedule risk factors;(4)the life cycle engineering consulting mode has the advantages of all-elements,all-process and all-round integration in terms of organization system,planning system and schedule management process.It further optimizes the schedule management system of Shenzhen Proton Cancer Treatment Center Project in three aspects:organization system,planning system and schedule management process,thus improving the effectiveness of project schedule management.
