| Objective: To compare the clinical effectiveness of anterior subcutaneous internal fixator(INFIX)versus modified Stoppa approach plate fixation in the treatment of anterior pelvic ring fractures. Methods: From January 2019 to October 2021,52 patients with anterior pelvic ring fractures were admitted to the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University(the Second People’s Hospital of Yunnan Province). They were treated with an INFIX or a modified Stoppa approach plate.Twenty-five patients with INFIX fixation and twenty-seven patients with modified Stoppa approach plate fixation were classified as Groups A and B,respectively. The average age of the INFIX group(group A)patients was(44.68±12.14)years.In 8cases,the cause of injury was a fall.In 10 cases,it was a traffic accident, and in 7cases it was something else.According to the Tile classification, there were 17 type B cases and 8 type C cases.Group B consisted of 17 males and 10 females, with an average age of 45.74±10.82 years. In 13 cases, the cause of injury was a fall,in 10 cases it was a traffic accident, and in 4 cases it was something else.According to the Tile classification, there were 18 type B cases and 9 type C cases. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, hospitalisation time, fracture healing time, fracture reduction quality,Majeed function score, and postoperative complications were recorded in detail for both groups. In order to comprehensively evaluate the clinical efficacy, the recorded data were analysed and compared. Results: After surgery, all 52 patients were followed up on.There were significant differences between the two groups in terms of operation duration and intraoperative blood loss(P<0.05).The INFIX group had significantly less operation time and intraoperative blood loss than the modified Stoppa approach group. There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of hospital stay and fracture healing time(P>0.05).In the NFIX group and the modified Stoppa approach group, the rates of excellent and good fracture reduction quality(Matta imaging score)were 92.0% and 96.2%,respectively.The rate of excellent and good imaging scores did not differ significantly between the two groups(P>0.05).The rate of excellent and good postoperative function did not differ between the two groups. Conclusions: INFIX is a minimally invasive treatment with less intraoperative blood loss and shorter operation time for unstable anterior pelvic ring fractures, whereas the modified Stoppa approach plate internal fixation group has superior fracture reduction quality. However, the rate of excellent and good postoperative function(Majeed function score)did not differ between the two groups. |
