In the context of social "digital" and "aging" transformation, more and more elderly people have access to new media.Among them, the extensive use of social media provides convenience for the elderly to obtain health information, but at present, there are few research results related to the electronic health literacy level related to the acquisition, evaluation and application of online health information for the elderly, and the impact mechanism is not clear. With age,the social participation of the elderly gradually declines, and the scope of activities gradually shrinks to family-centered,Intergenerational support has become the most important source of support for the elderly, and in the "post-figurative culture" era, digital feedback from the children who master information technology to the elders has gradually become the mainstream.Intergenerational information support has become an important part of intergenerational support. Therefore, whether the intergenerational information support can improve the level of electronic health literacy of the elderly, and then promote the adoption of health promotion behavior has become the core issue of this study.Based on the social cognitive theory, intergenerational support theory and health promotion model, the study adopts the questionnaire investigation approach to explore the social media use process of the elderly,The role of intergenerational information support on electronic health literacy and health promotion behavior of the elderly, the level of intergenerational information support, the level of electronic health literacy, the status quo of health promotion behavior, and the influencing factors of electronic health literacy and health promotion behavior. On the basis of quantitative research results, the representative family samples were further selected by in-depth interview to focus on the characteristics and influencing factors of intergenerational information feedback, elderly social media health information characteristics perception, elderly online health information contact habits, etc.,aimed at discovering more details, needs and pain points that can not be presented by quantitative research,so that the research can be further deepened.Quantitative research results show that the level of education, social media use time, and health information sharing ability of the elderly, having a significant difference in the level of electronic health literacy and health promotion behavior. In addition,e-health literacy has a significant partial mediating effect between intergenerational information support and health promoting behavior. It is proved that intergenerational information support can effectively improve the level of electronic health literacy of the elderly, and then promote the elderly to adopt more health behaviors through more efficient online health information acquisition and application. The results of in-depth interviews reveal the basic characteristics of intergenerational information feedback and the influence of family communication patterns on intergenerational information support methods and strategies. It also presents many factors that affect the elderly’s perception and experience of social media health information. In addition,it also explains the behaviors of elderly health information sharing, avoidance and adoption caused by internal and external factors.
