With rapid development of mobile electronic products and the Internet,video games,as an indispensable leisure activity in human social life,have a new carrier and operation mode in this era,which further bring the emerging of electronic sports.Taking games which share competitiveness as the carrier,electronic sports is becoming a brand new sports project with electronic information technology promotion.The maturity of online broadcasting technology not only meets the needs of game players but also becomes an important means for game manufacturers and video sites to attract new users and event spectators.Different competitions have different types of electronic sports commentators,different groups have preferences resulting in translation requirements for the translation of competition videos.The author selected the video of semifinal of 2019 League of Legends Global Finals as source text of the translation practice.Combing the AI voice transliteration and manual dictation,the author transcribed commentary audio of the video into text,which is then taken as the source text of translation practice.As a special cultural phenomenon,video games have special background settings and specific terms which need to cater to existing spectators as much as possible and reduce their acceptance costs.Technically,with respect of structural arrangement,this study divides the translation task report into five individual chapters.The first chapter mainly describes background of translation task:introducing the background of the translation task,translation objectives and relevant information of original text.Chapter two focuses on the plan and arrangement of the translation task:which mainly involves the preparation before translation,translation procedures and the revision as well as some finalization after translation.Chapter three introduces relevance theory and its applicability.Chapter four firstly introduces some difficulties encountered during translation practice,then analyzes translation practice by combining different translation methods and translation techniques.Final chapter summarizes translation reports which including the achievements and some unavoidable shortcomings in the translation task,as well as some implications and prospects for future translation practice and research in related fields.Throughout the whole process of translation,the translator mainly used the communicative view of relevance theory,cognitive context and the principle of optimal relevance to guide translation practice.In general,The process of commentary to the spectator is a kind of communicative activity,and the cognitive effect of the spectator should be considered in the process of information transmitted to the spectator,and the optimal relevance should be ensured in the process of translation.In order to achieve the above translation effect,at the lexical level,the translator adopts the translation methods of zero translation,free translation,conversion and selection of word meaning,which preserves the key linguistic features of e-sports commentary,namely its immediacy,colloquiality,player-orientation and game-orientation.At the syntactic level,the translator uses the techniques of annotation,addition and clarification of the object to reduce the cognitive cost of the spectator and make the translation more in line with the acceptance level and linguistic habits of the target language spectator.At the textual level,the translator has strengthened the use of non-verbal information,that is,the video images synchronized with the commentary are used to help the translation,so as to improve the accuracy and synchronization of the translation.
