The concept of "neutralization for beauty",derived from pre-Qin Confucian philosophy,is one of the important ideas of traditional Chinese philosophy. It refers to not going to extremes in the contradiction of opposites, that is,to seek harmony and unity between objective and reality, sensibility and reason. In the field of painting expression, both Chinese and Western artists are seeking the harmony of the picture. This is also the author’s artistic expression goal.In this article, the author projects the idea of "neutralization as beauty" into a concrete painting language, seeking a balance between objective natural and subjective forms, abstraction and reality.Piet Cornelies Mondrian’s works from the "Neo-Modelivist" period have long been considered his most iconic classic style. For the author,Mondrian’s works in the middle period, that is,the "neutralization" period of reality and abstraction, are the most fascinating, and he explores the essence spirit with a calm and restrained, moderate and peaceful artistic language, and pursues the spiritual realm of the unity of man and god, which is particularly in line with the traditional Chinese philosophy of "the unity of heaven and man" and "neutralization is beauty".The context of this paper is mainly from the three aspects of theoretical research, specific analysis and personal practice. The second chapter takes history as the "line" to unfold the context, analyzes the evolution of Western Mondrian thought and painting style, and then advances to the development of Chinese abstract painting under western influence,as well as the evolution of the author’s personal abstract style. The third chapter reveals the content in the language of concrete abstract painting as a "point".From the intuitive language of painting subject matter and painting elements,Mondrian’s characteristics in painting form and ideological concept are analyzed. In the fourth chapter, the author analyzes the abstract style of Huipai architecture and Mondrian, the factors that match the level of ideological concepts with the level of artistic elements, and the understanding of the concept of Chinese and Western abstract forms is "neutralized" into his own creation.Combined with the expression of personal subjective consciousness, the description and presentation of the series of creations are unfolded.Trying to achieve a balance between objective reality and subjective abstract forms, trying to create works that blend Chinese and Western, thoughtful and modern.
