| Yichun is one of China’s important timber production bases.During the 12 th Five-year Plan period,Yichun Municipal Government issued regulations for forest cultivation,transforming from a resource based city to a tourism based city.Under such circumstances,the development of regional tourism becomes a top priority,and the issue of tourism promotion needs to be addressed urgently.Therefore,the Publicity Department of Nancha County,Yichun City commissioned the author to translate Xianweng Mountain Tour Guide Commentary,a total of 13048 characters so as to promote the publicity work of the tourism industry in the region.This translation practice belongs to forest tourism text with strong interactivity and rich regional characteristics.After analyzing the characteristics of the text,the author applies Eco-translatology to guide this translation practice,conducts a well-founded case analysis,and summarizes appropriate translation strategies for forest tourism text.From the perspective of adaptive selection of linguistic dimension,the author adopts translation methods such as part of speech conversion,semantic explicitation,and semantic extension to solve the problem of flexibility of wording,so as to ensure natural,smooth,and accurate translation.From the perspective of adaptive selection of cultural dimension,the author adopts translation methods such as annotation,omission,and amplification to solve the problem of embedded cultural elements,so as to accomplish the cultural dissemination value.From the perspective of adaptive selection of communicative dimension,the author adopts translation methods such as parallel component extraction,logical connectives explicitation,and long sentence splitting to solve the problem of multiple parallel components,implicit logical relations,complex sentence patterns,and redundant information,so as to achieve discourse coherence,and improve thereader’s reading experience.The aim of this report is to explore the translation strategies and techniques of forest guide texts in order to probe into the value of ecological translation theory as it applies to this type of text.The author summarizes the difficulties and solutions encountered in the translation process,effectively promoting thedevelopment of thetranslation oftourguide commentary for resource-based urban scenic spots in forest areas,and hopes to provide some reference for futuretranslators. |
