The Qing Dynasty is an important period for the study of Han Yu with fruitful results.Fang Chenggui,as a master of Ruian Textual studies, has been studying Han Yu’s works for many years. With his profound textual research skills,he has changed his manuscript several times and finally completed the creation of Han Ji Jian Zheng. This book uses a variety of methods of collation and annotation, which not only fully absorbs the achievements of previous studies on Han Yu,but also puts forward his own unique opinions. It plays a role in promoting the development of the study on Han Yu’s poems, and is the representative of the study on Han Yu’s poems under the prosperity of Qianjia textual research. This paper takes Han Ji Jian Zheng as the research object, analyzes the methods and characteristics of its collation and annotation in detail, digs deeply into its collation and annotated achievements, and reveals its value in the history of Han Yu’s research. This paper is divided into five parts. The first chapter mainly introduces Fang Chenggui’s life, friends and writings.Based on local records, historical materials and academic notes, such as the records of Fang Chenggui in books such as Liang Zhe You Xuan Xu Lu,Wen Zhou Jing Ji Zhi,Qing Shi Lie Zhuan,we can find out the life experience, social activities and writings of Fang Chenggui. It lays a foundation for exploring the characteristics and achievements of Han Ji Jian Zheng. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the creation background of Han Ji Jian Zheng and the dissemination of the version.Fang Chenggui’s annotated Han Yu’s works were closely related to the prosperity of the Qianjia textual research and the revival of Han Yu’s studies in the Qing Dynasty. As a reader,Fang Chenggui’s vision of expectation was not satisfied, which was also an important factor in his annotating Han Yu’s works.Fang Chenggui is fond of Han Yu’s works. He has been reading the previous works of Han Yu for many years and thinks they are not good,so he re-organizes Han Yu’s works.Fang Chenggui has changed his manuscript many times in the process of collating Han Yu’s works,so the circulation of the version is complicated and needs to be sorted out urgently. The third chapter discusses the collation method of Han Ji Jian Zheng.Fang Chenggui’s Han Ji Jian Zheng uses four methods of proofreading: reference to other editions of this book, mutual evidence from this book, circumstantial evidence from other books, and reasoning and argumentation. He has carried out a detailed collation of Han Yu’s works with outstanding results, which have been used for reference by later generations of Han Yu researchers. The fourth chapter focuses on the annotation content of Han Ji Jian Zheng. The annotation content of Fang Chenggui’s Han Ji Jian Zheng is rich, which mainly includes annotating the pronunciation and meaning of characters, annotating the names of people, official system and geographical terms, tracing the origin of allusions and folk life, explaining the creative intention of the works, solid textual research and credible results, showing the characteristics of The Times of Qianjia’s textual studies. The fifth chapter discusses the academic features and deficiencies of Han Ji Jian Zheng.Fang Chenggui’s Han Ji Jian Zheng has four main characteristics: first,it is good at using profound knowledge of philology and phonology to annotate Han Yu’s works; The second is to pay attention to annotating the creation time of Han Yu’s works; The third is to follow the rigorous and objective principle of academic research;Fourth, the references are rich and detailed.Of course,Han Ji Jian Zheng also has some shortcomings, such as insufficient research caused by the annotation error; The citation is unclear and the source is forgotten.
