A Study On The Relationship Between Lu And Jin In The Spring And Autumn Period

The Spring and Autumn Period is a great change and transition period in the history of our country.During this period,Wang Gang declined,vassals rose,the independence and autonomy of each vassal state continuously increased,the various countries launched frequent military and diplomatic activities,becoming a unique scenery in the history of the spring and autumn period.The state of Lu and the State of Jin were both vassal states at the beginning of Zhou.After the State of Lu became Duke of Zhou and after the state of Jin became Shuyu,the two states were of the same lineage.In the early Spring and Autumn period,the State of Lu was an eastern power,while the State of Jin was a small country in the north.Due to the political status and geographical barrier,the two countries had few contacts in the early Spring and Autumn period.After the Battle of Chengpu,the State of Jin rose up and Lu joined the alliance of Jin,which officially opened the prelude to the communication between the two countries.The history of communication between Lu and Jin during the Spring and Autumn Period is,to some extent,an epitome of the history of the Spring and Autumn Period.The changes in the relationship between the two countries reflect the historical development trend of this period to a large extent.Therefore,this paper focuses on the changes in the relationship between Lu and Jin during the Spring and Autumn Period.The thesis first traces the historical origin of the two countries.Lu Jin was both the state of Zhou Dynasty,but they had different policies for establishing the state,which also led to the differences in culture and development paths of the two countries.In the early Spring and Autumn period,the two countries were faced with obvious differences in terms of situation,national strength and political status,which resulted in fewer contacts between the two countries at this time.After the "Chengpu Battle",the paper analyzes the reasons and manifestations of the strengthening of the relationship between the two countries from different angles.The communication between countries is centered on interests.The long-term stability of the relationship between the two countries includes many factors,including the relationship between the two countries in the patriarchal clan,but also influenced by other countries,especially the influence of Qi on the relationship between the two countries.As two important states in close contact during the Spring and Autumn Period,the State of Lu and the State of Jin carried out active exchanges in mutual recruitment,alliance,begging and other aspects,which greatly strengthened the relationship between the two countries.At the same time,there also emerged many important figures to promote the exchanges between Lu and Jin.The representatives of Lu were Ji Wenzi and Shu Sunbao,while the representatives of Jin were Shu Xiang and Zhao Wu.In the late Spring and Autumn period,the relationship between Lu and Jin waver until it finally breaks down.This paper points out that the direct cause of the relationship between Lu and Jin is the exploitation and oppression of the state of Jin and the injustice in dealing with the disputes between Lu and small countries,while the root cause is the dilution of the patriarchal blood relationship in the late Spring and Autumn period,which greatly declines its influence in state-to-state communication.All these indicate that a new historical period is coming.
