Schumann,as a very famous composer in the early stages of Romanticism,left behind a large number of excellent musical works for future generations and has long been a focus of research.His charm is not only reflected in his brilliant poetic temperament,but also in his complex personality traits.The completion of the piano suite "Butterfly" opened the door to a new world,allowing people to recognize the unique content and themes of piano works combined with novel musical structures in a new form,bringing people a more fresh artistic expression.This paper takes Schumann’s piano suite "Butterfly" as the research object,and explores the presentation of the form and content of the work by discussing the characteristics of music creation,performance analysis,and technical difficulties.In terms of performance techniques,analysis and exploration were conducted on the handling of timbre and intensity,control of melody lines,various handling of octave performance,and emotional adjustment,among other performance difficulties.The full text is divided into three chapters for elaboration.The first chapter narrates Schumann’s artistic career and the creative background of the piano suite "Butterfly",introducing the composer’s life and the background of the birth of his works;Chapter2 explores the musical essence of the piano suite "Butterfly",analyzing the combination of piano suite form and subject matter content,tonal transformation,and musical structure;The third chapter is an explanation of the performance part.The author first analyzes the technical difficulties in the performance of "Butterfly",and then proposes practice methods to solve such difficulties,in order to reveal how to better complete this work;The fourth chapter takes my performance practice as the starting point,and discusses the countermeasures and personal performance experiences to solve the negative psychology during the performance process.
